And right now it really sucks. Screw Pittsburgh, but as much as I hate their stupid, boorish, fickle fans, the team has to be respected for going on the road and beating the 1, 2, and 3 seeds. They'll put the hammer down in Detroit unfortunately.

Pitts deserves their props. So does Cowher, who was being written off a few years ago.
So does Shanahan and Plummer, and Holmgren. All were called failures not so long ago.

Yeah they deserve massive props for doing what they did, but if it weren't for some injuries i think they would have been the #2 seed. Its not like they were a middle of the pack team

I unfortuantely think Pitts wins it all, but I'd guess Seattle would give them the toughest fight.
I like Seattle's offensive line vs. Pitts defense.

Panthers vs Steelers would be the best SB matchup because they are so similar and it would be interesting to see what Pitt would try to do to stop Steve Smith. I think the Panthers will win it all

If the Panthers weren't so banged up at the RB position, it would be interesting. But maybe Foster has something left . . . .

I certainly respect your opinion and you could be 100% right, but I dont see Carolina beating Pittsburgh.

As long as Philly or Washington is not in the Superbowl, I am OK.

Talk about a down year for the NFL. This year will have the worst two Super Bowl teams in memory. It'll rank right up there with Philly/Raiders for the least talented matchup in history.

Yep, after the three game losing streak they were burning him in effigy. What a fickle, shameful bunch of fans- the players have basically been telling them for seven weeks they didn't want them or need them supporting them, which makes it all the more funny as you see people that claimed to be such ad such fans are now all of a sudden long time Steeler fans from back in the day-and they are like 30. :lmao2:

You can add SF and Pittsburgh to that list.

Yep, it's a sick, puke in your mouth feeling ain't it? I guess we remember losing a Super Bowl to those turds- I was 5 and a half when we lost to them in XIII and have hated them ever since- even more now that my best friend is one of their fickle fans.

I don't know what he could have left. He has a fractured ankle doesn't he???

I remember X and XIII to well, I can never root for Pittsburgh. It's Seattle all the way for me this year.

Boy was I wrong about Carolina, they are just getting manhandled in every single phase of the game. Man this is gonna be one boring SB with Pitt and Seattle. Pitt will probably win this one easily

Carolina never impressed me at all. Steve Smith impressed me, but nothing else did.
Stop Steve Smith and you are good to go against Carolina.

looks as though I was wrong too, had Carolina going to the SUper Bowl after man-handling New York

Exactly!
Too much being made about #6 seed beating 1, 2 and 3 seeds... they were better team that #6 - injuries played a part... what was their record when Ben was out for what 4 games?

DEFINATELY. Roeth being hurt, he showed today that he's a real good QB and howmuch they need him. Pitt prolly was no worse than the 3 seed in the AFC if it's not for injuries

I thought it'd be closer but I didn't think Carolina would win once Foster broke his ankle last week. No S. Davis, no Foster. Seattle was determined to stop Steve Smith like we did.
I thought the Panthers defense would be tougher, but their offense this week only had one weapon and he was going to get plenty of attention. I'm only surprised it's a major blowout, I thought Seattle would win by 10-14

That was Carolina's biggest problem today. Everybody and their grandma saw what he did last week and knew he had to be stopped. Today was just more evidence of what happens when he is shut down.

The only one I've missed over 25 years was SF - SD in '94. I just couldn't watch that.

Well, the only ones I watched much of were the Skins loss, and the two Panthers games. I certainly will not watch XL- I didn't watch the XXIX either-too mad. Didn't watch much of XIV, XVII, XXII, XXXI or XXXIII either.

He was describing how Seattle exploited Carolina's coverage scheme on a TD pass. It was a textbook example of what sets him apart because he can read coverages and lucidly explain the breakdown.
