The New York Post reports the New York Jets (http://www.kffl.com/team/27/nfl) will reportedly hire former NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) RB Richie Anderson (http://www.kffl.com/player/1332/nfl) as their new running backs coach.

Hmmm....thank god Richie has friends in high places. Huh? Not what you know, but who you know.

I suppose he knows the position. I suppose we could do a lot worse. As a player, I think I would have a lot of respect for Anderson, knowing hes a player I watched play, or played with even.

This is getting interesting. Can he stand up to Parcells if theres a difference of opinion? Will he just become another 'yes man' in the Parcells tree? I dunno.

He's going to the Jets, not the Cowboys.

I know I know...it's easy to get the two confused :D .

He left here on bad terms. I think he wanted to be a coach and was turned down. I'm not sure why though.

nah there were rumors when Richie retired because of his neck, that there was some falling out with Jerry because Anderson wanted to retire and become RB coach

No thats not conjecture. It was reported so. Apparently Jerry Jones was miffed that Richie Waited till last minute or something like that to inform that he wasn't coming back etc. Anyway, I don't remember the reason, but Jerry didn't like the way Richie handled some of his responsibilities.

It was reported by DMN and probably Star Telegram. And I yeah, it was also reported he wanted to try to coach with Cowboys and the reason he didn't do it was because of Jerry not liking. It wasn't a major news item, so you probably might have missed it, but it was repeated and not really a rumore per se. Jerry outright didn't say that in an interview etc. though, if thats what you mean by conjecture.

:spanking: You are misinformed :D ( well thats the close I found to slapping ;) ).

It really wasn't a major news story, so I am sure most missed it, heck I don't even remember the exact details myself, other than Jerry being reported being miffed at Richie.

And slight misinformation from whoever about Carthon. It was Newey--that bastion of correct information (has he EVER said anything accurate?)--who claimed there was a rift between Carthon & Parcells. Both Carthon & Parcells have said the opposite. Parcells even said he was sorry to lose him but realized Carthon needed to leave the nest. They both said they had talked after Carthon left.

They probably didn't want a conflict of interest with Anderson coaching former teammates. Are there any of Anderson's former teammates left on the Jets now? It's a shame really because I think he'll be a good RB coach.

Cowboys upset with Anderson cause he waited too long to have surgery, hadn't bothered tell us about it until late May/June, then decided to retire but still asked Cowboys to hire him as coach. Left bad taste in Jerry's mouth which could have been avoided if Anderson let us know earlier in year about his plans.

Best of luck to Anderson in his new job. He's a smart guy, a hard worker, and he knows his stuff. I hope he's successful and I also hope he gets a young back to mold once CMart moves on.
