View Full Version : Hypothetical Question

Look, I'm not trying to stir the pot here, but bear with me.
The most important position in this game is undoubtedly Quarterback. Some believer our future at the position is currently on this roster and some believe it isn't, regardless, we all understand the value of the position. There is speculation that Romo is "lighting it up" in practice and that Bledsoe fears that if he went down, he would lose his job. There is also talk that Henson is right where he should be at this point, and just needs experience which he will gain in Europe.
Personally, I believe that there is no denying Henson has all the physical tools necessary to be successful at the quarterback position. I like the kid and I think he has legitimate shot at being a success somewhere down the road. Some believe the same about Romo. However, what if the unthinkable happens? What if a top QB in the draft starts to slide down the boards?
Now I know we all have limited knowledge about each quarterback prospect, especially the ones on our team. But from what you have seen so far what are your feelings at the position? Would you be comfortable sticking with the guys we have or do you feel we need to draft a QB?
If Leinart was sitting there at 18 ( there are talks that he is sliding but I doubt it) do you take him? It's not impossible, Rodgers slid very far last year.
I just wanted to know your thoughts on drafting what is considered a top QB (whether it be Young, Cutler or Leinart) if one of them is sitting there at 18.

I would take Leinart at 18. I think he's the best Qb this year.

I personally dont like the guy and think he is a little overrated.
He may be worth a mid-late first rounder but I dont really care for him.

If he slid, I think we have to take him. Take the BPA.
It's not like QB isn't a need. We've been forking around with the QB position for the past 6 years. I'm sick of it.

Interesting ... considering he would have been the #1 player taken in last year's draft.

Field trade offers but if you don't get a deal you like take the qb.

I agree, take him.
Let him slug it out with Henson and Romo, and trade off the loser(s) for draft picks. Worked with Steve Walsh and Aikman, why not do it again?

Well, I would personally try to trade the pick and get value but you have to have a partner to do that. Who needs a QB after we pick?
Bolts are pretty much set at QB.
KC might need a QB. Green is getting older. That could be a fit.
Pats are set.
Denver is set.
Bucs are set.
Bengals are set.
Gents are set.
Bears could go either way. They love Grossman and they have Orton but...
Jags are set.
Carolina is set.
Denver again, is set.
Cots are set.
Steelers are set.
Seattle is set.
Who would trade with us?
You figure NO and Tenn. get there guys in the first round.
I think it would have to be one of the following:
Jets
Green Bay
Raiders
Detroit
Miami
But then, if these guys need a QB, why wouldn't they just draft Leinart to begin with?
Bottom line, I don't think we'll ever see this scenario happen.

You need to swap GB, they just drafted Rodgers, with AZ.
As to the question, you let the slide continue and draft an OLB or OT, if you can't trade out of the pick.

You know what I don't like about Lienhart -- 1) I spell his name differently every time I type it and, more importantly, 2) Why, if you have the fire to play in the NFL, do you stay in school after winning back to back national titles and the Heisman?

What spare time? I have six straight days of games. The high school regular season has 2 more weeks, and tonight's game is #1 vs #3 in their region with a share of first place on the line.

No HS game yesterday, so I picked up a pair of middle school playoff games.
First game is a 7th grade game and the home team loses to a team that had not won a game all season, and a mom comes to tell us how bad we sucked and how I let the visiting coach intimidate me into making calls for his team.
What is going through my mind is...last week I had a boys game with the #2 and #4 teams in the state in their division, packed gym, 65-64 with the #2 team winning it at the horn. Or the X-mas tournament with the #1 team in the state, #35 in the nation, against the #9 team, standing room only and Lute Olsen, the coach of Arizona, is there recruiting a kid for the #1 team...and I'm going to get intimidated by a 7th grade coach?:laugh2:
