To dispel all these myths about Polamalu being the best strong safety in football. I already pointed out his screw up against Denver, leading to a big TD reception, here's another.

Allowed the Seahawks only TD last night. Instead of covering the TE, he leaned towards helping on the WR's post. Wide open TE in the end zone. You would think someone who is SO much better than Roy wouldn't make such a big mistake, on such a mediocre TE....

The play was a pick near the goal line...

Don't really care if he's the best or not...he ain't a Cowboy.

Oh, I saw the pick. Regardless, It sure looked like it was Troy's responsibility, since it was man to man, and noone else was on the TE.

I don't think Polamalu is the best S in football but I do think he is a damn good player and show class.

Whats it matter. The best palyer at any position could have a bad game, does that make him not the best anymore.

Troy is a great athelete and a damn good FS, wether you say so or not. Any team in the league wopuld pick him up today if he were cut.

Your gunna lose this one. He was the best on the field last night and since they were the only teams remaining, I guess that would make him the best. Sorta the 'last man standing' thing here. If keith Davis wants that title, best FS, hes gunna have to play better, you saying hes better then Troy dont make it so.

Well, Troy is a SS, so......

Again, he's a SS, not a FS. And I never claimed he wasn't a darn good safety. Just working on dispelling the notion that he is far superior to Roy W., particularly when it comes to his coverage skills.

He is a fine player, but I would question the class part. I hear he is a great person off the field, so I won't even question that. I have just seen him get many personal foul and unsportsman like penalties when I have watched the Steelers play. He has a tendency to come in late and hit someone. I think he is a borderline cheap shot artist. That doesn't take away from him being a very good player, but it is just my observations.

I consider him a hard nose player on the field and seems like a good guy off the field.

Who cares whos better. You either like your guy or not. The fact he may be a better FS or SS then Roy is immaterial. These things are gunna happen, where the other team has a beter QB or FS or RB or whatever. It takes nothing away from Roy that Troy is better then him.

Why does every player for the boys have to be better then the hotshot, flavor of the month player thats out there.

For your inmformation, Troy may be as good at SS, but hes definately got better cover skills then Roy, so that would make him a better SS too then Roy. I dont care to rank players, but I know I could cover about as well as Roy. Hes a hitter and thats about it. He will never be confused with Deion Sanders. Thems the facts of life, like it or not.

Except he's not.

It's not the claiming someone else is better - it's the claims that Roy is so bad, can't cover, makes too many mistakes....and the comparison is always drawn to Polamalu, by the Roy bashers. They seem to think he rarely makes mistakes, when he does, in fact, get beat quite a bit. Just supplying facts for them.

Wrong. He's actually quite good in coverage for a SS.

He will never be confused with Deion Sanders.

Um....noone will. Ever.
