TAKEN FROM ANOTHER FORUM: Romo trade = good or bad? Sorry no links are available to justify the (widely reported) comments.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its been widely reported that Sean Payton really likes Tony Romo. If they, or another team were to call and offer a 3rd round pick for him, would you want it done? Or would you want to see what we have with him?

What I do not know how interested Payton is really in Romo.

Why is it a hoax?

Romo was Payton's pet, Payton is gone, Romo is a career back up at best and was an UDFA.

We get a pick for him and I'd do this trade in a heartbeat.

I bet you want Romo gone - dude keeps burying Henson at #3. We did turn down a day 1 pick from Jets.

Saints not going to give up a #1 or #2 now. Trades happen after free agency and draft or leading up to draft.

Saints offer a #1 for Romo I trade him. Go pick up Kitna in FA and potentially draft a QB for the future.

I want what's best for my team, not my agenda. We trade Romo and your head is in the oven within seconds of the news.

And the truth of that was that the Jets CONSIDERED OFFERING A 3RD. Considering means it DID NOT GET OFFERED, and we DID NOT TURN IT DOWN TO KEEP ROMO.

I have a good feeling Romo will turn out to be a better NFL QB than Mr. "Cowboy" himself Drew Henson. (Gotta love a fool that played baseball as first love rather than football..go figure)

Interesting comment considering your username.:lmao2:

There were 17 million reasons to play baseball, and you'd be a fool not to take it.

Man listen....I was very good in all the sports I played in...NOT great but this guy's heart wan't in football, which by the way was his strong suite, so he ran to baseball all to fail at the end. Henson is only in the NFL because his first love failed.

You believe yourself? Parcells has done an excellent job grooming Romo. Whats best for this team is what we have. Bledsoe for the forseable future. Henson getting his big chance in NFLe.

You have no clue what was offered by Jets. Again short and sweet for you.

We'll take a #1 for Tony Romo. a #2 might also get a trade done. Trades like that don't happen now. This whole thread is make believe - sorry to burst your bubble.

Stick to plan D, your QB plans are all drying up in the desert heat hombre.

You need a serious history lesson on Henson.

His first love was and is football, he grew up in it.

When interviewed when he came back, he said he needed to try baseball because 10 years from now he did not want any what ifs, had he not tried it.

Nobody that is at a professional level in two sports is going to just say no to 17 million dollars.

Do a bit of actual research about what was reported, just what does

CONSIDERED

mean?

You are beyond laughable, several media sources all reported the same thing.

I don't care one way or the other, but if Romo does get traded I'm gonna laugh my arse off, and post 100 threads on it.:lmao:

If we could get a third for Romo, I will consider the Cowboys as the beneficiary of the trade. Romo has not proven anything. If Payton wants to give us a 3rd round pick, Jones would be dumb not to take it.

Heck, if BP can take a undrafted player like Romo off the street and talk him up a bit for 2 years and get a 3rd via 5th for him he is a genius.

Do it Bill !

If we can get a 1st or 2nd for Romo thats all star move! I'll post 1000 threads that we got that for a QB who was undrafted and by some accounts, too short and has a lollipop arm!

At least it will take the sting out of the 3rd we already gave away on getting Henson.

Mosely: Cowboys turned down a third round pick for Romo at trading deadline

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tony Romo just completed his third season without taking a meaningful snap, and he’s justifiably frustrated.

Third-string quarterback Drew Henson is probably headed to NFL Europe – otherwise known as NFL Siberia.

The fact that Parcells never considered using either player in a game that had lost most of its significance shouldn’t come as a shock.

He wouldn’t even give Drew Bledose the hook when the Cowboys trailed, 35-7, in Washington. Some of you have asked me whether I think the Cowboys will draft a quarterback.

Well, let me just leave you with one item: The Cowboys turned down a third-round draft pick from the Jets for Romo before the trading deadline, which seems to indicate they still like him.
