The Patriots signed WR/KR Zuriel Smith and allocated him to NFL Europe.
The former sixth-round pick was released by Dallas, then the Giants, last August. He could see time returning kicks for New England.

Watch Bill Belichick and his staff turn him into an All Pro WR and KR.

Does any team turn water into wine more than the Pats?

Man, just imagine if he turned into the best returner in NFL history. See the headlines now..."LITTLE BILL OUT DOES BIG BILL AGAIN".

Won't happen, but just imagine if it did...

Zuriel is way too specialized, IMO. What was he... 150 pounds soaking wet? If you held him up to the light, you could see through him. Too small to play anything but WR or KR, and not good enough to justify a WR spot. Not blazing fast, either.

Zuriel Smith and All-Pro and the best returner in NFL history?

Do you think he'll get in the Hall of Fame before Michael Irvin?

:D I was thinking the same thing.

It just seems to me that the Cowboys never develop any young Recievers...We either have to get them In Free Agency or Trade for them.

The jury's still out on Crayton.

Jimmy Smith was a Busted Dallas Pick. Yeah I know Philly let him go too.

In hindsite it looks ridiculous...But at the time nobody cared that we cut Smith...Crazy things can happen.

I'm not compairing Zuriel to Jimmy talent wise but stranger things have happened.

I would just once like to see the Cowboys...Take a nobody WR develop him and he become a star here...Not somewhere else.

NE's smart...signing a guy and assigning him to NFLE doesn't cost you a bag of beans...it's a no risk gamble...either he does great and develops and you sign him here, or you let him go and it cost you peanuts. Having a player in NFLE also gives you a roster exemption later.

Sending a guy to Europe costs nothing...unless he's a 3rd round pick you signed for millions...:bang2:

Thanks, you seem to have been the only one who got it.

I was being ironic.

it's an emerging thread that has watered down the NFLe product. Teams are just signing street FA's to allocate them there.

Many believed it was because the Cowboys were upset that they had to pay him his salary for the year he had the appendicitis infection. Jerry still claims that they were trying to move him to the practice squad.

I'd keep it. Once he is in the HOF, it will be worth something.

(Just not sure what :D :p: )

it's smart for New England to do it, but watch us make a similar move, and we're being cheap

in fact, didn't we sign Zuriel just this offseason and people were complaining? :laugh2:
