I can't believe it's been 6 years our coach has been gone from us 2.12.2000. He's the reason this team is what it is. Why a lot of us are fans of the Cowboys. 29 years as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. 13 division titles, 5 super bowls and 2 world championships. You don't find coaches better then that.

Sometimes a story like this falls through the cracks, I didn't want this to happen to him. He brought me a lot of joy watching his coach our Cowboys. It's the least I could do for such a great coach and man.

ya know, there was simply a sense of calm ya got whenever the camera would show Landry on the sidelines...
He is sorely missed.

All the other coaches were screaming and running up and down the sidelines, not tom though, he was a cool coach.

He was before my Era as a Cowboys fan, but I really like everything I hear about him.
The guy is just classy, period.

I cannot begin to express how much Tom Landry meant to me. As a young boy in the 60s watching him on the sidelines he showed me what it was to be a man. Whenever people talk about whatever the hot team is being "America's Team" they just don't get that it wasn't about winning so much as it was about the character represented by the team and in particular Tom Landry.
I miss him and I want to thank you for starting this thread to help me remember.

When the new stadium is built, his name HAS to be associated with it somehow.
I will never forget, the man in the hat. Thanks for the thread.

Tom Landry is the reason I am a Cowboys fan. He represented everything that a young boy could look up to. Calm, distinguished, intelligent, strong, an individual with a classy identity.
Thanks for the thread. He was a great man. :star:

One reason I get so angry when people disparrage the Cowboys and their past accomplishments. This man single-handedly led us to TWENTY consecutive winning seasons. Can you imagine that happening again? And everything about him is to be admired - on and off the field. He was a genious and I can't help but be angered when it seems Lombardi gets all the glory.
God Bless Coach Landry. I miss him so much I can't even put it into words.
