I've been watching this draft and one thing strikes me. We seem to be making moves to save cap. Not just cap though. Rookie cap. We went in early and secured players that we needed in key positions except the TE but at every opportunity, we have traded down for cheaper draft slots. I wonder if we are trying to work out cap room for the Henson deal? I don't know all the details around how that works but I know that his numbers have to be included in the rookie cap. if this is what Dallas is trying to do, then it makes a lot of sence.

The rookie cap number is based on the year you were drafted. In the Henson case, its the rookie cap number for the Texans not the cowboys.

It has nothing to do with Henson, since Houston had to fit him under their rookie cap space.

I think Jerry is tryin to become the new Bidwell and gorde his money.......

Maybe they plan on doing something in the supplemental draft and they need the money for that , anything is possible.

I am thinking you might be right. Maybe they are planning to go after Mike Williams or even Maurice Clarrett? My guess is Mike Williams. This would also explain the benefit of the Extra #1 for next year's draft. We could give up a 2nd, 3rd, or even a 1st and not even hurt our draft.
