Per Fox Sports

Moments after the Dolphins got Daunte Culpepper in a trade with the Vikings, free agent quarterback Drew Brees agreed to a six-year deal with the New Orleans Saints

Or they're calling Danny Boy to find out what Ramsey will cost them. He may get some draft picks back.

That's a good point... they have Volek to hold the reins for a couple of years...

The top two picks are DEFINITELY up for grabs.

What does this say about the Saints evaluation of Leinart?

I am not going to say you are wrong, because I know how NFL teams send out smoke signals.

But word is out that the Titans like Vince Young a lot. Again, by no means am I saying you are wrong, because what you say makes perfect sense.

i think it says that no matter who was at QB, they need OL help and signing Brees allows them to draft D'Brickshaw Ferguson:bow:

Yeah, but he is OC not HC or GM. Norm Chow will have input, but he ain't the guy who will be making decisions, besides its not about being his guy. But whats good for the future of franchise. Besides Steve McNair has more clout than Chow has and Young is McNair guy, if anyone has a clout on Draft Decisions with Titans that is, since he just did a huge favor by restructing his contract etc. too.

But I doubt either of those guys are going to be key decision makers or swayers of the vote to draft.

Not Much? :D

Kidding aside, I think they signed the more proven version of probably Mat Lienart. Although Lienart does have Height over Brees, but both had question marks about their arm strength, although Brees seemed to have somewhat increased his since he has been NFL.

Personally, I am not at all impressed with Lienart, as far as his arm strength is concerned. I just don't think he has the NFL level arm strength to be a Franchise type QB. I could be wrong, but in my personal opinion, he is not worth top 10 pick. Now if he were available in 20 pick onwards, I would sing a different tune, since the money given would be worth the risk/reward ratio. That is in hopes that somehow his arm strength can be improved ala Drew Brees.

Vince Young in the top four is very risky with Brick and Mario there to be had.

IMO, there could be crazy bids back and forth between teams like the Jets and Titans trying to trade up with the Texans and Saints to get Matt Leinart. As exciting as Bush is, Leinart is a blue chip player at the league's toughest and most important position. Any team in the top four is going to be very happy with Bush, Leinart, Mario, and Brick as all four are franchise players.

After that it gets dicey, IMO.

LOL at McNair having any draft clout. He has one or two years remaining at best, so there's no reason to rebuild this team around players he hand picks. That makes even less sense than Jerry letting Aikman test drive his new TE choices back in 1997.

No owner or GM is going to let a player tell him how to spend $20 million in guaranteed bonus money on a rookie.

So what happens to Aaron Brooks in all of this? I find it hard to believe that he'd be willing to sit the bench after being the starter the past 5 1/2 seasons, and he's only 30 years old. Yet, I hear nothing about him wanting to be cut or traded. Maybe we will soon.

I would have liked for Dallas to pursue Brees.

This is a great move by New Orleans. IMO, Leinhart and Young have too many question marks.

I said a while ago that i would love for us to go after Brees but there is question marks to Brees to cause of that injury to his arm
