John Clayton said on ESPN that it was between us and Denver but could take up to 3 weeks for the deal to be done since Drew R. was trying to get more teams interested so he could get TO the best deal - Key was released but could be brought back if a deal for TO couldn't be worked out - get ready for a long process.
Then I don't want him then.

Damg, I have been waiting all day!

I still dont believe it will be a long process. I think this all gets ironed out by this weekend. JJ and BP have better things to do than mess around w/ Rosenhaus and his client for 2 weeks. We have more pressing needs.
Here is our offer - like it or lump it. Move on!

if Dallas didnt have a deal in place already to replace Key, someone at VR needs to be taken out behind the woodshed and beaten like a red headed step child....

These are no no-nonsense teams...
Neither will sit around and wait for Rosie to drum up other suitors...
It will be a likely take it or leave it rather quickly...

Doesn't anyone remember the long drawn out process that it took for us to get Keyshawn two years ago?
I think we sign T.O., but it'll take a couple of days.

Totaly agree with you. You don't dump Key because you plan to sign TO unless you have TO in hand. Not to enter into negotiations for him. That is just nutty and something I don't believe Cowboys would do it -- totally out of character. l

My gut says that there will be a press conf next Monday announcing TO. But I also haven't eaten anything since around noon so my guts saying all kinds of crazy things.

I just want this thing to be resolved... I can't stand 3 weeks of suspense on it.
Bottom line: Do I get to watch my Cowboys or not?
No to T.O.
If I'm Key...I say screw you...we just dumped on him.
Yeah, I think it's presumptuous on our part to assume he'll just sit around until we're ready to make a decision. Sure, there will be open communication, but he'll be gone if some team makes a real nice offer that we won't match.
This is why I don't like the Moulds for Keyshawn argument. To me, we needed the TRIO of receivers improved, not just an improvement over Keyshawn. And I don't consider Moulds a "true" No. 1 -- it's one thing if we dumped Key for a real number one, but Moulds hasn't hit the 1,000-yard mark in, what, three years?
Moulds may be a slight upgrade, but not one that makes me jump through hoops over.
Wasn't he the No. 1 up in Buffalo? Didn't Keyshawn put up better numbers here as the No. 1 in '04 than Moulds has produced in either of the last two seasons? Again, to me they're almost interchangeable parts; Moulds provides a little bit of a deeper threat, though, and less of a 'tude; while I think Keyshawn provides a little more guts and makes the more difficult catches from time to time. But they're nearly a wash.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.

Clayton also said there could be a possibility that Miami would jump into the mix......speculation.

what if BP and JJ are playing TO to see if he is willing to toe the line? They talk to Key and agree to resign him if he does not get a really good offer from someone else. Then they say to TO: you will toe the line, keep your mouth shut, and carry the water for BP at TC. Take it or leave it. TO will of course tell them to stick it- and the boys resign Key with a nice raise.

If you are going to refuse to be a Cowboys fan because of one player, then frick off. We don't want your fair-weather arse around here anyway.

No, NO, NO!! I have been a fan since I was 5! I WON'T root for any other team but the Cowboys. George Teague won't be watching the Cowboys either if T.O. is on the team, according to TODAY's interview on ESPN 103.3
Since I can't go against my Cowboys, I won't watch the NFL.... PERIOD!!!
Don't tell me I'm some fairweather fan!! You are babbling about something you know nothing about!

What do you mean I know nothing about it?
You just told me you are such a weak fan that you will be turned off because of one player. That's all I need to know.
That's pretty lame.

John Clayton looks like a nutty science professor, doesn't deserve to be reporting NFL news. He has no clue what TO or any free agent will do until they actually do it.

Part of Jerry's "grandeur" would come from making a sign like this fast, not just making it. The longer this takes, the less appealing TO starts to become to Jerry. This happens within a day or two, I say, if it's going to happen at all. Lets not overlook the J.Walker-Wildcard that Jerry could be holding up his sleeve. Or maybe there's something else tucked away up there...perhaps a trade in the works for someone totally unforeseen?
