I don't know a thing about him but they drop 10 spots in the 7th round. He had no carries last year and one catch. Second year player out of Hampton though..isn't that where Zuriel Smith came from? His name is Darrian Barnes.

He has 5 cats. Once went to a class in a hooded cap over his pajamas because he didn't want to be late. Everyone on the Bucs lineman thought he was the craziest guy on the team. Fan of Sponge bob. Once taped a guy to the top of the Cherokee and drove unto the women's softball field.
Sounds like a keeper.

He is a fullback and was on injured reserve last year.

I would loved to have seen that .
This is an interesting and baffling trade.
See, Barnes is a Parcells guy. Barnes is a local product from NJ here and I have actually seen him play and ran with him one time. he is a good guy, regardless of what they just said on the ticket.
Here's where Parcells comes in.... After he graduated from hampton, I guess he was an undrafted free agent. Well, Parcells helped get him into Giants Training camp. I have a friend who works for the local County courthouse here who looked up one day to see Darrian Barnes and Parcells at his place of work. They were there to introduce Barnes' mother to Bill. She worked there.
Anyway, he ended up attending the Giants camp and almost made the team. The Bucs picked him up and he made their practice squad. Last year when Alstott got hurt, he was their fullback in short yardage situations and is a great blocking FB. That is the baffling part. We already have Jamar Martin. Did he do something wrong? I mean, Barnes is not a runner.
Parcells does have a history with him from at least 3 years ago.

We've definitely picked up more spots and personnel than we though we would.

Parcells wasn't enamored with Martin. I don't know what he did but it seems to me like Big Bill doesn't have much love for him.

I think the big issue is that Martin isn't a good ST player. Parcells is used to having his FB play ST. We got around that last year because we have some other guys at other positions who picked up the slack (i.e. Ogbogu). Martin will either have to definitely beat this guy as a blocker by a wide margin if he wants to be on the team next year.
I find it amazing how just about anyone that we thought had promise before Parcells came is either in the dog house or gone. I mean look at the list... LA, Derek Ross, AB, J Martin, Hutch... well thats a different story. Then he takes Carter out of the dog house now maybe throws him back in. I think we had some guys that were or are good players, but seemed to be loose cannons..... I have no problem with Parcells getting "his guys". This was a Parcells draft. Good, our success has more to do with Parcells being here. Looks like Jones has handed him the reigns. That is the only way Parcells will be happy.
