Ok, now that we have re-signed Keith Davis, and the saints had wanted him, and it looks like the saints are trying to improve there defense why not trade keith davis and greg ellis and our 18th to the saints for there number 2 and take a Michael Huff or Vince Young any thoughts on this and be nice dont be

We're trying to move down, IMO, not up.

I don't see JJ paying Huff number 2 pick money.

Furthermore, NO isn't going to give us the number 2 overall pick for the players you mentioned and our 18.

Well let's trade Coakely, Glover, Ellis, Romo, and Davis...

Oh....those names don't work anymore.

Is the only goal to draft a Texas player?

I'd rather wait until the 2nd or 3rd round for Rod Wright or Jonathon Scott than to waste time trying to move up that high to take a Longhorn.

Ellis, Davis, & #18 for 1 player? I don't see it. Ellis has real value to this team. Davis can as well and we can get an impact player at 18.

Moving up is not a good option for the Cowboys. Moving down might be. It depends on who is there at 18.

If we had the #2 it would be Leinart or Hawk! No way you spend that pick on a DB.

I may be wrong. But I think you can't trade a guy to the team that signed him to a restricted FA offer sheet.

Davis is not allowed to be traded. No way that package gets you the #2 pick in the draft.

Texas players are the greatest and any criticism is simply because you are a Horns hater.......at least that is the gibberish I heard last year when I questioned DJ's ability to take on blockers and not immediately declare him the best thing since sliced bread.

I still don't see the value in taking a FS in one. If you can't get pressure on the passer or stop the run, it doesn't matter who is back there.

That probably means Dallas will move up to take a FS......:laugh2:

The only thing more tiresome than far-fetched trade proposals is stale, repetitive stabs at humour, such as 'let's trade Coakley....'

well there is great possibility that you have hit the nail on the head, there is no restriction that i know of that would prevent such a trade, and if they did make that trade they wouldnt take huff at 2, they would either take a qb or trade down for more picks to a spot that would make huff affordable to take, either way something is going on with the backdoor connection between peyton and BP, i have believed every since i read the article where BP told peyton to take brees , and now bringing huff in a player they know won't be there at 18 makes me believe something is up even more, cant wait for draft day right or wrong i have a feeling this one won't be boring ............

I don't know if Davis will be involved; I think Dallas sincerely wants to keep him. But I do believe that Romo will be involved and Ellis is a good bet as well. Payton was Romo's chief advocate here in Dallas and Ellis fits the N.O. 4-3 defense better than he does the Dallas 3-4.

However, I doubt we get the #2 overall pick. I think we will be looking at the N.O. 2nd round pick and maybe some more picks from them to give us the ammo to move up if the opportunity to get someone like Huff should arise.

Speaking of Leinart... if he drops out of the top 5, Jerry better be on the phone trying to move up.

Ah, draft day, where fans think they can turn their team's scented-sprayed poop into roses and convince another team to buy for a bargain price.

Why move up to take a FS when Ko Simpson is going to be available in the 2nd round without trade necessary. Also, why draft a FS high like that when you just shelled out money for a 2 year deal with Keith Davis?

Would NO trade the #2 pick of the 4th round (99 overall) for Romo?

Would Dallas do the deal if NO would?
