this has already been covered before, but we just dont have the ammo to move from where we are at 18 to 2-3-4-5...not unless we start selling off future number ones and probably all or most of this years draft too

I'd love to have Reggie Bush, but he probably wouldnt be worth what we'd have to do to get him

Lets stay the steady course...if BP were not here, Jerry would be wagging his tail so hard it would come off his body.....

Bush isn't a big enough need for us to move up, and no LBer, Hawk included, is worth what it would take to get him.

Bush would be nice... but it would just cost too much, I'm afraid. The only way I'd do it is if we could trade enough players. People like Ellis who are good players, but don't neccessarily fit in our 3-4. However, there aren't enough of those players on our roster.

ANY chance of this happening tomorrow??Not unless you buy a ticket :D

If we traded up to the top of the board I'd hope that we took either Hawk or maybe Huff. I just have a bad feeling about Bush and Ferguson.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldnt Hawk play ILB? This move would make no sense

I've never been banned before - I would volunteer - but something interesting will happen tomorrow and I'll need to come in here and push someone's buttons.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldnt Hawk play ILB? This move would make no senseHe played inside at Ohio State but he has all the tools to play outside for us on the strong side. In fact he has the tools to play anywhere in the LB corps that they decide to play him; he is an absolute beast.

That being said, I doubt he becomes a Dallas Cowboy.

Yeah - but inside or outside, it still doesn't matter.

Not trying to undervalue linebackers, but no LB is worth what you would have to trade up to get this guy.

If we had a pick there anyway, it would be worth it. But giving up our first this year, 3rd this year and 1st next year would NOT be worth it.

to move up from the 18th spot to the number 2 would take our second and third....for just one player, I say NO!!

Stay at 18 see how the draft unfolds and see who tries to trade up or see who we might be able to get at 18.

We are not one player away from winning it all.

I was speaking hypothetically since this is a totally hypothetical thread about a hypothetical topic in a hypothetical world in a hypothetical dimension in a hypothetical Sci-fi novel in a hypo...Ouch

IMO, depth and the ability to rotate players is what really wins games (for example, our DLine during the 90s). If anything, we should trade down and aquire as many 2, 3s and 4s. These guys are the cores and they tend to stick around b/c they sign contracts that are cap friendly.

As for Hawke, I don't doubt his ability, but I'm trying to think of the last top 5 or even top ten LB that made a huge difference. Pro Bowl LBs can be had in the late first or second.
