Apologies to InmanRoshi or someone ripping it and doing it better and more accurately ...

The Ticket had on John Wojochowski (sp? .... wasn't his dad a long-time Dallas scout ...?). A fairly young guy it sounds like.

He's the NE area supervisory scout in charge of evaluating Carpenter and all picks around there inc. Ohio.

Impressions?
Bobby is is a fine player. Hard worker all game long, does everything possible to get on the field, we're going to love his game.

Why not Lawson?
Both are good. with BC he has more experience at LB, played down more.

Was picking between BC and Lawson like splitting hairs?
(In the draft) splitting hairs is like splitting atoms. So many factors the avg fan doesn't realize. Who fits what you're looking for? Those 2 players not much difference (though).

Was Carpenter the only (elite) OLB in the draft that could also play the run?
Yeah, he's versatile, we like that .. (he can be used) many ways ... he can stop run, and has pass rush ability. He can put hand on the ground, can play off the line (too).

Could he start as rookie?
At that position, one of the more demanding ones in our defense .. with both run and pass (responsibilities?)... his makeup should do heck of a job.

Playing with another great player (Hawk) how do you evaluate him? (translated: could he be overrated because of Hawk or the good Ohio State D ??) ???
There's a certain criteria at each position ... regardless of who's playing or who he's playing with. You have to meet that (criteria) at that position. (Who he's playing with ) is not a large factor ... we look at the criteria at each position.

What's it like being the (lead NE) scout ???
200+ (???) nights on the road. .... it can be a long time.

Was there debate at the last minute on Carpenter?
There's lots of guys you may have thought be there or vice versa ... we all loved Bobby's potential .. that was the guy we thought best fits. By this point we had it narrowed down ...

He was 256 at combine, could he be bigger (was he too big)?
He's a well conditioned athlete. He loves the game, he'll be (in the weight room) 24-7.
