With the draft over, and us signing Kai Parpham as an undrafted free agent, anyone want to draft Ahmad Brooks (AKA Ray Lewis 2.0) in the supplemental draft. Imagine how good our linebacker corps will be, and just how stacked it will be.
Ware - James - Ayodele - Carpenter
Burnett - Brooks - Parpham - Singleton
+ Boiman

No thanks, he's got skill but he lacks desire. If Al Groh threw him off of his football team, I couldn't imagine Parcells going after him.

I don't see it happening.

I'd rather give Burnett another year.

I've always heard and read the same about Ahmad.
But lately I've read (even from UVA fans) that Ahmad is putting himself thru a boot camp like training to prepare himself for TC.
Take it, FWIW.
With the Parcells-Groh connection, I am confident we have the resources to make the correct decision on this guy.
Even if Groh kicked him off, he may give a positive review in terms of his ability to latch on elsewhere and respond in a different situation. Or, he may flat out say he's a goof.
Again, we won't be out in the dark about this guy.

Exactly. Have to trust BP & company on this one. I'm sure we will have all the info we need to make the right decision.

Look at it this way, first, got to remember that Parcells told all his scouts starting last year in preseason, he wanted all the tapes he could get of Brooks.
then, I look at it like this, no way Dallas spends a number 1, 2 or 3 on him, maybe a 4th or 5th round pick if he falls that far in supplemental draft. Reason why, like Parcells said about Maurice Clarett, his back is to the wall, either he wakes up, or he has to get a real job that doesnt pay as much.
Finally remember that the Denver Broncos drafted Maurice in 3rd round, and Parcells hadnt even touched him yet. So, I would say 4th to 7th draft choice. if we do get him, Groh knows him, and he would tell Parcells what he needs to know. Remember about Canty, 4th rounder right.

Canty wasnt a thug loser with a weight problem
Groh knows Parcells...Groh is similar in alot of ways to Parcells because they worked together for a long time...Groh kicked Brooks off the team completely after TONS of issues...you think Groh is telling Parcells "hey Bill, you need to get this guy"
please

No, I am saying, Parcells will get low down on Brooks from Groh, what really really happened, then he will talk to Brooks on phone, and tell him, you got to run, just like he did with Lendale White whom didnt run with dallas in tryouts. Parcells will weigh what Groh tells him, then decide, ok, does this guy have his back to the wall, if he dosnt make it here, or some team, then he has to get a regular 8-5 job with less pay. That is what I am saying, if Parcells likes the kid. Just like Clarett, Parcells remarks were, his back is to the wall.
Add to that, remember when Parcells told his scouts, I want alll the tape you can get me of Brooks, last year, and this was early last year too. So, at that time, Groh told Parcells something about the guy. Then, Parcells will decide,

I have no idea if the above happened, since I had never heard that before now...but even if it did, that was BEFORE Groh kicked him off the team...
the kid is a loser

I agree with that, to me he is a loser, kinda like Jacob Rogers, all I am saying to me, Parcells will gather info from Groh, then decide, he wanted him in the draft, telling his scouts to get all tapes of him. Sometimes a persons back has to be to the wall, before they wake up, sometimes they never grow up, but sometimes they do. Thats all I am saying, if Brooks is still there from 4th round down, Parcells might go from him, not before.

To me Jacob Rogers is a whus, he didnt play a down for cowboys in regular seaon on offensive line. when the cowboys wanted him to come in and workout, he said no, he wanted to work out on his own, so no one could monitor him, and he could get by with another injury. He did the same thing to USC, where Justice had to replace him one year. To me, someone that takes money from someone, and not play is a whus and a thug.

We can always use talented players, especially linebackers. Repeat 100 times: Linebackers are the essence of the 3-4 defense.
Burnett has been a disappointment thus far. Who's to say James doesn't regress? Or Ware doesn't progress? Or Carpenter's a bust? Ayodele has been solid thus far, but what if he can't adjust to a new defense? And then of course there are injuries. Devil's Advocate of course, but I'd rather have a stacked deck than half a deck like we ended last season with.
Brooks could even end up starting.

We have 2 of the 4 best front seven players from Al Groh's 2004 3-4 defense.
We drafted Burnett instead of Darryl Blackstock though. And Brooks was easily the best player in said front seven. If Parcells was impressed enough to draft canty and sign Parpham, there is a good chance that he might want Brooks. All in all Burnett is the better linebacker. They play the same weight and size. But Burnett slipped into the second because of injuries =/, and then we didn't have a 3rd round draft pick.
This corps was the #1 linebacker unit in college football. Parham might end up like Dennis Haley though. At least we felt the need to go after him.
Brennan Schmidt signed a free agent deal with the jets. He was obviously too undersized to fit in our system, and we're fairly crowded at DE anyways.
The browns drafted Andrew Hoffman in the 6th round last year, he is also undersized for a Parcells 3-4. Don't think he is going anywhere with Cleveland.
Substitute Spears (and Hatcher) for Schmidt.
Substitute Montavious Stanley for Andrew Hoffman and Kevin Burnett for Darryl Blackstock.
I still say we should get Brooks.

He was a lard *** because he was hurt and talent will always win out over any perceived thugery (sp) and if parcells feels he is talented enough he will try and pick him up and for your information the NFL is filled with so called thugs.
Actually I would like to know your definition of what a thug is?
