James Hasty, Everson Walls, and Eddie George were talking about the draft. Stephen A. asked Everson to critique the Cowboys draft, and Everson said our draft was "very poor." The only real reason he gave (that I remember) was that we didn't address OL until the 7th round. Hasty and George didn't opine on our draft, but George did point out that we lost Larry Allen as well.

And no, I'm not a regular viewer of that show. Stephen A. Smith is a moron.

Oh yeah... they also talked about some of the athletic black QBs picked in the lower rounds drafted to play other positions (like Michael Robinson) and tried making it a racial issue. I guess they've never heard of Eric Crouch.

Stephen A. loves playing the race card. Not to mention he talks like he's typing with the caps lock on... "EVERSON WALLS, WHAT GRADE DO YOU GIVE THE COWBOYS DRAFT??"

I respect the Cowboys front office opinion that the OL talent available in this draft was not sufficient to deter us from making the selections we did.

But am I bummed that we got virtually no help for our OL in this draft? Absolutely!!

I don't think Jerry & Bill feel like we're rock solid up front. I think they are hoping the moves we made with Kozier & Fabini, Flozell & Rivera's return to health, and Pettiti, Johnson, Gurode & Peterman's development will be enough to make our OL productive. But I think they are uneasy about it too. They just didn't see cost effective solutions in this draft. You can't make a draft something that its not.

Stephen A. Smith is a moron.
Enough said. Couldn't have said it better myself. He is a waste of space on our already crowded universe.

DJ Shockley and Michael Robinson were much better college qbs than Eric Crouch. Eric Crouch was a very exciting player, but had no where near the talent. Robinson actually led his team to a win over Florida State in a bowl game and he did it with more passing than running.

You know, if Stephen Smith had been interviewing Paul Warfield, or Ozzie Newsome, or maybe Romeo Crennel, or say Tony Dungy, then he could have gotten an informed opinion about the draft rather than Joe Athlete's off the cuff take.

And you know how in-your-face Philly boys like Smith feel about Dallas..

Scott Frost, Crouch and Matt Jones all changed positions. Did that POS smith mention those guys?

Crouch won the Heisman and I think he was a much better college QB than all of this years QBs that have changed positions.

I caught that segment. Eddie George is bitter because he sucked and BP recognized it and let the world know it. Everson Walls is just old and grumpy:laugh2:

Thinking about it..

Paul Hornung was a college QB.

Everson was born with a chip on his shoulder.

He's not for everybody. He had such a strong and potentially disruptive personality that Jimmy ran him off shortly after he arrived in Dallas.

But he worked out fine for Parcells.

Maybe Owens will be OK in Dallas afterall. ;)

I'm also concerned about the offensive line; however, I'm optimistic due to the fully employed two tight-end sets. Having that extra blocker will make a difference. We lined up in this formation last season due to injuries, but now we can run it because we want to. It's going to keep the defense honest; in result; opening up our options.

And to say that it is racist to take QBs in the lower rounds to convert them to other positions is ridiculous, because it doesn't take into account African American QBs are also taken in higher rounds and left at their position (Michael Vick, Jason Campbell, Quincy Carter, Steve McNair, Daunte Culpepper, Donovan McNabb).

I will never understand the obsession with some people to feel that the QB position is so racially charged.

Stephen A. Smith is definately a moron. He never makes a valid point on anything he talks about. All he ever does is talk very loud when someone disagrees with him so people think he is intense or something... And think ESPN gave him his own show

I'm shocked that this team has done very little to address its biggest embarrassment (OL)

adding Fabini at RT is fine and dandy,,, *I like that*

but swapping Allen for Kosier? *PUSH*

counting on Rivera/Gurode/Johnson to all step up? *FOOL'S GOLD!!*

adding a rookie TE for a 2TE scheme, sounds nice, but the result is *UNKNOWN*

Adams is coming off of a knee injury, so his play is an unknown, and this team is once again one injury away from total disaster! Where's the depth?

I like most of the team's other moves, but without huge improvement from the OL their upgrades are rendered impotent,,, and this OL only looks slightly better with the addition of Fabini,, that's it.
