First it was Al Johnson, Then Jacob Rogers and finally Kevin Burnett all injured before the start of the season. Here's hoping that none of the rookies or Vets
have any major injuries this mini or training camp. That would be a good sign for the season.

One of Fasano's back screws will come loose and he'll be out of football for life. Book it.

i think fasano, will b a good TE, in the NFL. what makes it better, is that we have a whitten, somebody that can help fasano develop faster. we are gonna b , great this year in, the double TE sets

he's got back problems? can you elaborate? They found a plate and screws in his back when he was getting examined before the draft this offseason. I don't think he would have been a first rounder, but he'd definitely been higher on a lot of people's draft boards barring that discovery.

I find it hard to believe true when none of the Dallas media have reported it and I also don't see the Cowboys spending a second round pick if true. Someone posted his injuries in college and it mentioned he had back spasms in a game.

It does seem odd to me that this wasn't more widely reported.

the report started with "a post from another message board"
Searching Google for terms like Fasano back, fasano plate, fasano screws brings nothing except him missing a game in college.
Also Fasano surgery has nothing at all, and the plate and screws had to be put there surgically.
So all in all I say the screws and plate is was more of a rumor started by someone who didnt like the pick

You're right he is pretty good. But he missed how many games his rookie year? 8 I think and how many last year 5 or 6?
Eskimo

The one thing he has on his side is that he is not an OL.
Parcells choices at OL have been a particularly beleaguered lot:
Flo - torn ACL
Rivera - back, neck, elbows
Al Johnson - knee
Rogers - knee, shoulder
Peterman - knee
Ryan Young - knee
Genarro DiNapoli - ankle
Amongst guys who made it to the starting lineup, only Tucker was spared and he is now with the Bucs. Pettiti made it through his first year but he was pretty banged up by the end.
OTOH, the guys who were already here when he came seem to have stayed relatively "healthy" - Allen, Gurode, Matt Lehr, Tyson Walter.
Anyhow, hopefully Fasano does well - if he can match Witten's rookie year we will be sitting pretty. He should be quite a bit more polished than Witten who only played TE at Tennessee for two years before being drafted. Playing in a similar offensive system at ND should also ease his transition.

This sort of stuff happens all the time. Folks are born with plates and screws in their backs -- usually this is passed down from the father's side. Amazing the genetic defects you find at the combine.

The implication of course was that Fasano attempted to keep this a secret, but the extensive physicals discovered it.

I think many of those picks had injury problems and missed games while in college.
To my knowledge Fasano only missed one game due to back spasms.
Either way let's hope that the curse or just bad luck does not continue.

knowledge would mean that it's fact, which it clearly wasnt, "I heard on another board" isn't fact
I think an interview was posted on this board after the draft and a reporter asked either Parcells, Jerry Jones or Stephen Jones about the injury and they said they had no knowledge of it. Basically, they looked into it and it wasn't true. You would figure they did more research on it than we have.

dude, common knowledge would be this, "if you don't wear sunscreen on a hot, summer day, you're going to get sunburnt", it's a fact that has years of research behind it; however, relaying what someone said on another forum, with no proof behind it, isn't common knowledge, common rumor maybe, since it was so prevalent on here, but it wasn't a fact, which means it can't be construed as knowledge

It was common knowledge that it was reported. Also, I wouldn't limit the definition of common knowledge so much. If quite a few of the daily visitors knew about the report and discussed it at length, then I'd say that knowledge of the report was common.

Actually it is. It is also a fact that it was common knowledge that it was reported. Facts can be true or false, but their falsity doesn't make them any less facts.
Fact (n.)-
1. Knowledge or information based on real occurrences: an account based on fact; a blur of fact and fancy.
2.
1. Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed: Genetic engineering is now a fact. That Chaucer was a real person is an undisputed fact.
2. A real occurrence; an event: had to prove the facts of the case.
3. Something believed to be true or real: a document laced with mistaken facts.
3. A thing that has been done, especially a crime: an accessory before the fact.
4. Law. The aspect of a case at law comprising events determined by evidence: The jury made a finding of fact.
Where to you come up with the notion of "false facts" out of all of those definitions? "False" and "Fact" are complete opposites of each other, and each time you use them together you are in essence canceling out any meaning that it might have had in your argument.
