is you can debate all day whether or not we will do well this year in the playoffs but here is what I do know:

Teams are going to have to worry about one of the top 3 receivers in the league on every offensive down this year BECAUSE HE IS NOW ON OUR TEAM!

Teams wont be able to doubleteam Terry Glenn this year like they did most of last year because WE HAVE ONE OF THE TOP 3 RECEIVERS IN THE LEAGUE ON OUR TEAM!

Teams wont be able to just cover Witten with a safety this year because he will have to worry about rolling coverage over to the other side BECAUSE WE HAVE ONE OF THE TOP 3 RECEIVERS IN THE LEAGUE ON OUR TEAM!

Teams wont be able to bring the SS safety down in the box against the run BECAUSE WE HAVE ONE OF THE TOP 3 RECEIVERS IN THE LEAGUE ON OUR TEAM!

It will be harder to run up the middle because akin and bradie are better than what we had there last year.

It will be harder to throw against us because we will have a true free safety back there.

Teams will have a harder time stopping our passrush even without Glover because we will have akin, carpenter, a stronger and more experienced Ware, Spears, and Canty coming at that...also Hatcher.

It will be so refreshing to see someone coming from the opposite side of Ware that will have a chance to get a sack most of the time in Carpenter...was tired of seeing Fugita and Singleton get stonewalled on every play!

It will be so nice to actually feel good everytime we get ready to kick a field goal!

I dont know about you guys BUT THAT FEELS GOOD! WE HAVE FILLED ALOT OF HOLES!

Told my wife we had to go to Sam's in preseason and stock up on popcorn.

I told her to just trust me. :D

for the first time in 10 years i feel good about our team....as far as going deep in the playoffs...i know that it may not happen...just saying you can at least talk about it now...

True STS. I feel the same enthusiasm, just not ready to declare us playoff ready until I see this team play, and play well. A lot of "Ifs" to consider that keeps me grounded.

Reading up on some of the player interviews, I get the impression this team is hungry. Talking playoffs is not far-fetched anymore.

A lot of "Ifs" to consider that keeps me grounded.

The biggest "if" being "if there are no major injuries".
If thats the case, one of the few teams capable of beating this team is itself.

If JJ stays healthy.

If T.O stays happy.

If this O-line holds up against some of the best D-lines in the league.

If our FS really is a FS.

If our LB corps is as good as advertised.

Just to name a few....

Man, will somebody move the clock forward to opening day already!!

Ah, don't hold your breat on that Glenn prediction. He's the "iron-man" of falling on ones face. The guy will injure himself right off the field before any of these bold predictions about him have any chace of coming true. Has the past not taught anyone anything about Terry Glenn? How a guy like Witten is forced to play through a BROKEN FACE his rookie year and then little girlie guy has had a career pass to hop off the field at the first sign of a minor bruise, is beyond me. Talk about opposite ends of the "Parcell's Player" spectrum. But this year won't be any differen then in years past, Glenn will find a reason to come off the field at first sign of his numbers not heading in the direction we all know he thinks he should be getting. Simply put, he's NOT a #1 and can't handle being a #2.

Zippy = Ignore. You obviously are a fan of another team and are agenda driven. Why don't you go back to extremeskins or wherever you came from. I for one am done listening to you.

When reading about our own defense, we see the goal is to improve the pass rush. This is the best way to disrupt a team's passing game. By the same token, the best way for opponents to disrupt our passing game will be to establish the pass rush. If our oppnents do this against our OL than they'll easily cover TO and Company. And it'll get even harder for us if the OL can't get Julius Jones going because then we'll get more and more one-dimensional and that's easy for any NFL team - especially playoff calliber teams - to defend. Yes, we do have TO, and defenses must contend with him, but offensive football success always has and always will hinge on success in the OL-trenches and on the running game - with or without TO.

Successful season = 10-6 record, divisional playoff win (wildcard win doesn't count), and a solid effort in the NFC-CG.
