Sean Taylor is likely to get a one-or-two-game suspension from the NFL after pleading no contest to two misdemeanors Thursday.
Taylor's lawyer discussed the plea with the NFL before his client agreed to it. He'll also face a hefty fine.

I hope they suspend him for the first and third games so we can embarass his rear end with Patrick Crayton again. Heck, he couldn't handle Crayton, imagine what TO will do to him. Man I hate the skins. :skins: (Once again, getting to use my favorite emocon).

Come on, be honest guys. You all would be thrilled if Sean Taylor wasn't playing in game 2. Well, at least your WRs and TEs would be.

Why they won't be so tired after running away from his replacement instead of him.

OK, I'll be honest. I hope he plays because I don't want to hear the whinning coming from deadskins about how their great DB wasn't there.

I'll be honest and admit that I think we'd better score at least another touchdown if he's not in the lineup against you guys with the personnel you have.

I won't whine, **** happens. Winning in Dallas is a tough feat with or without him.

Is your sig a picture of the actual trial?

He couldn't wear a suit and tie? He didn't even button up his shirt.

It was a picture of his bail hearing last summer, the trial itself never happened.

Nobody said anything to me about it if it was...I change my signature often anyway...and now the trial is a nonissue thank goodness.

any "all overrated team" would have to include thugster Sean Taylor...terrible in coverage (still) and that was supposed to be what he was good at

I couldnt care less if he plays or not...like Arrington, he is always good for some busted assignments here and there as well as repeated knuckleheaded plays

We'll always hear how the refs screwed someone.

You've got to be kidding me. Ask Philly the kind of difference Owens made for their team, and ask the Redskins what Taylor means to our team.

If you're going to look at 2 plays, Crayton in 2004 and Glenns flea flicker pass...I could easily say that Roy Williams and Aaron Glenn suck and are overrated liabilities.

Gee, I could have sworn that Michael Irvin got a five game suspension for his plea bargain.

Then again, Taylor is not a Cowboy, so I guess one or two games will be about all he gets.

Irvin violated the leagues substance abuse policy plus pleaded no contest. The league is strictest on drug related acts it seems.

Ray Lewis didn't get a suspension for any games and he was guilty of obstruction of justice in a murder case.

Thug or not, Sean 'The Hitman' Taylor is an up and coming defensive superstar that we are going to have to deal with twice a year for the next decade.

With that said, The Answer would very much like it if he sits out with a suspension week 2 against the Skins.

I'm not looking at 2 plays...the guys been massively overrated since day one...he's a total thug off the field...so far he hasnt been worth anywhere near the pick that was invested in him

Irvin violated the league's substance abuse policy and received a 4 game suspension. Plus, Irvin pleaded no contest to FELONY cocaine possession. Sean pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors - simple battery and simple assault = simple fist-fight. It's a little different, but not because of what helmet Sean wears.

He gets burned a lot. Philly game against Lewis, San Diego game, not to mention that he takes horrible angles and gives up big runs to his side.

It's pretty tough for a FS to give up a big run to his side. What you're thinking of is when Arrington/Holdman gave up big runs to his side and Sean had to run them down (Tiki, Julius in game 2, LT...). You notice those plays are always to the left side of the offense (right side of the defense) where Lavar/Warrick lines up on first and second down.

Nobody knows yet whether he will be suspended. The NFL likely won't decide until mid-August. But the NFL's lawyer said a one- or two-game suspension is common in cases such as Taylor's.

from PFT

'SKINS EXPECT A FINE ONLY FOR TAYLOR
A league source tells us that the Washington Redskins anticipate that safety Sean Taylor's punishment for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy will be a fine, not a suspension. Under the CBA, the Commissioner has the ability to impose discipline on players who engage in off-field criminal conduct.

Earlier this week, Taylor pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor battery as part of a resolution of charges that allowed him to avoid felony counts that carries a maximum of 45 years in prison.

The team, we hear, is 90 percent certain that Taylor won't be suspended.

We're also told that, even if Taylor is suspended, the Redskins won't try to recover any of the signing bonus money paid to the fifth overall pick in the 2004 draft.

His Plea Bargain doesn't have anything to do with what the NFL decides to do about his status, other than the fact he's not going to jail.

The NFL could suspend him just like they do drug offenders, criminals, etc... The NFL, because they weren't a party, can't be bound to any plea bargains in this case.
