View Full Version : TO not speaking to teammates?

Hussein

Just listening to the Steven A Smith on 1050-ESPN in New york and he said that TO has been walking by his new teammates and not aknowledging them when they speak to him.

I don't know how he knows this, nor did he offer up anyones names (pretty irresponsible, if you ask me) but I hope he's way off base with this one. Maybe we'll get some clarity from an actual Cowboy scribe. Mick, JJT?

Why does anyone pay attention to the NY media any more?

No Dallas reporter has written about this and a couple of them have some serious agendas to undermine the guy. They'd be all over it by now.

That seems to differ from what Bledsoe and Romo have said thus far. I know Drew has talked with TO so until there is some more evidence to back Smith up I have to take this as his own perception and not necessarily fact.

big mouth attention grabbing guys working in ny usually have a great idea of what is going on in Dallas, especially when the tv network and radio network he works for is dying for controversy and waiting for them to be able to point it out to everyone, even if it is not happening.

Seriously, espn is only around looking for the negative and there employees on the national radio shows and the tv network are just going to say bad things about our team and owens and as soon as there is some minor flare up it will be the end of the world and espn the worldwide leader in axxholes will be there to tell us told you so.

Funny, Romo mentioned that they've had some throwing sessions together and Romo pointed out that the Dallas way of running a deep in route is different from the way they do it in Philly and he said Owens was receptive to it.

I guess they did it in sign language.

Sure he is. He hosts a show on New York's ESPN affiliate, ESPN 1050. I know he still writes for the Philly Inquirer, but he's now based out of NYC and was born there and lives there. Also, "Quite Frankly" is taped in NYC.

Then Parcells threw a sweaty shirt at TO & said "the bet's off--I'm not wearing no *)(&*&#@5 bodysuit now!" Then Jerruh sent TO to the corner because he wasn't sharing the sandpail nicely with Witten.

Meanwhile, Galloway, Jennykins, & Hansen were seen jumping up & down frantically while screaming "I TOLD YOU SO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

Does he host a daily radio show for ESPN 1050 in NYC from NYC? Then he's a part of the NY media. It's a NYC show and he's a part of the NY media. His cohost is also a NYC guy, BT. He does still write for the Philly Inquirer, but its more of a national column that he writes from the comfort of his home in NYC, he's hardly ever in Philly. If only that were the case.

The current tabloid media see Terrell Owens as a "cash cow of controversy" giving them plenty of scandal to sell papers and get ratings for their shows.

Everything Owens does or doesn't do at this point will be a big deal, until the day comes when either:

a) The scandal well runs dry

b) Owens is no longer a big-time player in the NFL

c) The fans get completely tired of hearing about him

We'll see which happens first.

he's not part of the established "NY Media" by any stretch. his show can be cancelled any day.

"NY media" are long-timers (football think gary myers, serby, etc.) who went thru the ranks (reporters, beet writers, local play by play, etc.).

by your definition anyone heard on the radio in NY for a few minutes a week is a "NY media" guy. Dan Patrick is a NY Media guy too... he has a show on 1050. LOL.

That's different Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd, Mike & Mike and Jim Rome et al shows are nationally syndicated and they discuss all the teams in the NFL, baseball and basketball and so on on a more regular basis. Those guys are on in hundreds of cities throughout the country. The ESPN guys are based in Bristol, CT. On Stephen A. Smith's show, while he does discuss many different teams, his show usually revolves around the NY teams and he is not on the radio in many cities throughout the country, just NYC and does his show from there. Are Mike & The Mad Dog "NY Media"? They host a radio show just like Smith and they discuss the NY teams at length. Smith also wrote for a NY paper in the early 90's at some point. If you don't think Smith is a part of the NY sports media, you're clueless.

So you have to work in NY media for a long time to be part of the NY media? You don't make sense. So Smith wrote and still does write for the Philly Inquirer, does he have the alotted time in there to be considered a "long timer" and is thus Philly media? You can't have it both ways.

Just checking why some posters continue to participate in this ridiculous charge by outside writer that TO not speaking to his teammates when Mickey, Jason Witten, Bledsoe, etc., have all had meals/conversations, etc. withhim. I guess some people will believe what they want to believe; guess that's why we got so many eccentrics in this country.

After all, I've got a friend whose wife still believes we never landed on the moon and that it was all a right wing or left wing, depending on what day you talk to her (something I always avoid), conspiracy to take over the U.S. and place the Spanish king on the U.S. throne--which rightfully his cause Spain was entitled to all of New World since Columbus discovered America. Go figure.
