this guy just makes me sick...Clayton was saying how by the first or second loss of the season, T.O. is basically going to start his old antics. doesn't this worm realize that teams DO lose in the national football league?? just another attempt of the media trying to be negative and trying to stir up something that isn't there...i think the more the media talks about T.O. starting problems, the more it is going to motivate terrell to be on his best behavior :starspin

Just curious - how did TO act while the Eagles were losing their first game with him?

that's true but we don't know what was happening on the sidelines...andy reid was too soft to approach to problem in the beginning and looked what happened. IF anything happens in dallas...parcells will put his foot down right away and not take T.O.'s antics.

But wouldn't it be fair to say John Clayton knows more about what was happening on the sidelines than you or I?

And Reid was tough on Owens, before he came to Philly he promised to be on his best behavior (Sound familiar?)

Has John Clayton every played anything competitive besides tiddley winks? He needs to stick with what he's best at; covering professional football news and stay away from making his own prognostications.

Not necessarily.
Clayton has had us getting Kerry Collins,Brian Griese,Jake Plummer and Kurt Warner.
His track record speaks for itself.

You guys are right about Clayton, but how can you be so sure that TO is going to behave himself. He has absolutely ZERO track record of behaving himself once he achieved star status. Don't you remember all the Eagle fans 2 years ago saying the same thing you dudes are saying right now?

I really, really hope you are right, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh, I will say this. When signing him was still just a rumor I said if Dallas signed him I would root for him to break his leg in the first practice. I no longer hope that and I'm glad it didn't happen. I hope he stays healthy the whole season. I will root for him because he's a Cowboy, but I detest the man and always will. And I won't be a bit surprised when his alternate reality kicks in again.

Every sportscaster had us getting [Insert QB Name Here], they also had us as getting Owens which they were correct on.

I'm just saying that Owens has done this in the past and to write it off as saying "They're wrong, it won't happen" just makes me wonder if it's optimism or denial.

Kill Clayton, what a mediot. He's anti-Cowboy. What a moron.

But the moment he says something positive about the Cowboys, he'll be hailed as a great media correspondant.

Why the heck do we care what John Clayton says???

ESPN has many idiots that get air-time.

Clayton is one of them.

If he came out tomorrow predicting us to win the Super Bowl, it wouldn't change my opinion of him.

I only watch ESPN for entertainment value; not to be "informed."

Actually, ESPN had no clue about the Owens signing until the Friday Night before the press conference.

KBLK broke the story a few days earlier and idiots like Clayton scoffed at it.

The Great Gazoo has zero sources in Dallas and knows nothing about the Cowboys - and it kills him.

He's a big-time Seahawks guy and will talk them up at any opportunity.

Actually, let him do his stuff, I believe Parcells, in grand Parcell's fashion, will turn that around into motivation not only for TO but, also for the team. The only time there's going to be a problem is if those two men clash. And well that will happen if Parcells can't turn around the negativety into a group positive. How many game do we let get away from us in the 90's if Irvin isn't on the sideline doing basically the same thing trying to rile up his teammates? The problem with Owens in the past was the coaches above him, none knew how to handle someone like him or how to turn his negatives into team positives, intead it's almost like each and everyone up until this point let TO intimidate them and inturn immediately losing all of the superstar's respect in the process...and also splitting the locker rooms, too. This WILL NOT happen with Bill. He is a coach about control. He is a coach about motivation. He is a coach about winning. All simple things a player like TO can comprehend. All things a player like TO wants to hear. Give TO Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson to start off his career just like Irvin had and it starts on a similar "right track", too. I mean come on, just look at these blowholes he's had as coaches so far. Ontop of it all, Jerry Jones, someone who totally speaks in the same "tongue" TO talks in. "A match made in heaven" is right.

Bunch of dang kids around here! Little does anyone know that John Clayton is in real life Wally Cox.

Bah, you're all too young to remember him. He was on Hollywood Squares and was also the voice of Underdog.

Everytime I see Clayton on TV I expect him to rhyme.

I think Reid is a good coach, but there is a reason he generally avoids difficult players.

John Clayton reminds me of the kinds of bookworming study hall typed nerds we used to beat up for lunch money and pocket change in elemetry school.

Sad thing is most of them nerds now makes a lots of moneys and look down on me nowadays. But when I was running the playgrounds they used to beg me up not to mess em up to bad. I wish I still put fears in them today like from before.

Life aint not a fair thing at all.
