It's gonna be OK, Ark.
Maybe one of our "skilled photoshop guys" can paste Clints face on Hensons body for you. Will that help?
Don't know if I can help you with this weekend, though. Other than say, IMO, I think it was an ok draft. Should set us up to run the ball and set up play action.......

That's the only bright spot of this whole weekend. But who is to say we won't waste next years additional 1st round pick like we wasted this years 1st round pick?

We didn't waste this years pick, we just pushed it back a year.

We didn't waste this years pick, we just pushed it back a year.
And with pushing it back, coupled it with ours, allowing us the means to trade up for that "must have" guy, if we so choose.
Or, we could trade down with one of them, garnering more picks.
Or stand pat and have TWO first round talents.
Options.........GOTTA LOVE 'EM!!

Now Erik,
How in the heck is that pick going to help us this year? It's not.

Or we could trade down, acquire more picks, and waste those extra picks we acquire all over again like we did this year.

I think we did allright. This is just my opinion but I think Julius Jones will be a pretty good running back. I watched a couple of his games this year and the guy seems to know what he's doing. If he does turn out to be good I wonder how many of the critics of this draft will publicly eat crow.

So explain to me just how we wasted those picks? Hmm? You can't.
NOBODY knows if a player will make it or not. Not Parcells. Not Jimmy Johnson. Not Tom Landry. And certainly not you.
Give it a rest JD. Your constant pessimism/whining is old.
It would be different if you ever gave reasons to why you feel something, but you don't. Just blanket statements. "So and so won't be drafted next year." "This draft sucked." "Those picks were wasted" etc....
Blah, blah, fricken' blah.

JD,
Have a good night's sleep. I've never read you so negative. Some of these guys will work out....Jones is an upgrade from Ham and will start. Peterman of lsu is a great prospect and will end up starting as well. Henson will, most likely, take over for Quincy by year's end....If just one of the lower round picks pans out, and I believe at least one will, we're gonna be OK.
No franchise players were available to us this year, regardless, given QB and WR were not going to be targeted. Hang in there my brother, I'm having a difficult enough time as it staying positive, I look to some of your writings to help keep me that way.
Sleep on it...it'll look better come training camp and let's not forget that we have losts of dinero for phase II of FA.

If they pan out then you got two extra picks and a RB. J Jones was a bargain and we picked up some picks. When you're rolling dice then the more throws the better. Hope all else is going well.

Ark my good buddy I totally lost my buzz when I heard the Boys traded down. Fortunately the Lions traded up for Kevin Jones so at least it won't be painful to watch them anymore.
As for the Cowbys, we at least got a guy who can return kicks and be a backup to whichever running back we draft in the first round next year. With Henson having at least half a season's experience and two top 15 picks they Cowboys will be set to complete their rebuilding process. Who knows maybe we take Mike Williams in the supplemental draft.

That's what makes a fan a fan, my friend. Sure, in three years we can all look back and grade the draft accurately. But part of the fun is forming our opinions now. Some people like the trade down, some didn't.
Honestly, I didn't like it at first, but now that I've read that Parcells had just about all the running backs ranked equally (and S.Jackson wasn't even the first on his board), at least I know he did the right thing by his draft board.

well it's not like there's anything I can do, if I thought I was better you can bet I'd be out there trying out! Jones could easily be a Dave Megget type and if Parcells doesn't like Jackson for whatever reason, like I said, at least we're set up for next year.

JD's got a right to his opinion. And it's an opinion that almost every draft board emulates. Dallas trades down and trades down and pick up three BJ Tuckers and Zuriel Smiths that are going to end up cut in the middle of training camp.
I can understand trying to look on the bright side, but don't slam a member of the board for telling it like it is.
