I live in the same town as my Dad.

My younger brother lives away and could not be here for Fathers Day.

He visited the week before Fathers Day so we all gave Dad his gifts and celebrated his Fathers Day the week before, so my younger brother could join in.

The day before the real Fathers Day, (Sat) I drove over to my Dad's house and gave him a card so he could have it for the real Fathers day.

After church on Fathers Day when we were standing outside I told him Happy Fathers day again.

But I didn't stop by his house any on Fathers day itself.

Did I screw up ? Or do you think I had it covered ?

Bah... Father's Day is easy. A handshake is all you need to get by with that day. No one cares about dad. Hard worker, pay the bills, remain unappreciated, such is the fate of ol' dad. Check out the Hallmark stores on Father's and Mother's Day and tell me which one gets about ten times more space.

Mother's Day is the one you don't screw around with. There's a whole set of rules for that sucker. And subsections for your wife, mother, and everyone else.

Fine job WV. Couldn't ask for anything else from a son. Hell 1/3 of this world doesn't even know who their father is and the other 1/3 are fathers who don't know who their children are.
I kinda go thru the same gig w/ my Dad. He's pissed if I miss it by an hour BUT.....he's never once wished me a happy fathers day. Why is that I wonder?

I'm not really worried, but my concern was because our family is very close and we take good care of each other.

I thought about it the evening of Fathers day and felt maybe I should have gone over to his house for a little bit. That would have been easy for me to do since we live in the same small town.

He has been a great Dad and I didn't want him to think it didn't mean anything to me.

I guess I just felt that we had already celebrated it.

I had almost forgotten about it, and then I just figured I would throw it out to the board and see what everyone here thought about it.

I'm glad I did.
