This was pulled from the bottom of the article linked in the Belichick mess.

I'd be interested in that book...sounds interesting.

Weis’ tell-all tome
And speaking of football, New England Patriots offensive coordinator-turned-Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis’ memoir, “No Excuses,” penned with NFL.com scribe Vic Carucci, will hit bookstores in October.

Charlie’s tell-all for Harper Collins will include “insights on the game, stories of his days as an assistant to Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick, and accounts of his triumphs and of overcoming personal tragedies and triumphs,” reports Publisher’s Weekly.

I was going to comment on that in the other thread. Good job of making it different thread. Unlike Belichek, I predict Weis will give lot of props to BP. He seems to have mended lot of fences with Bill Parcells before he took ND job.

I can honestly say that I see Weiss as our head coach in 2008

I'll have to read that someday. I still haven't gotten around to reading Belicheck's book though.

Weiss would be crazy to leave Notre Dame, even for the Cowboys.

if he wins a National Champ he won't, so I hope, on both accounts, them winning, and him wanting to leave for a bigger challenge after that

He may want to move on then again look at the tenure of a lot of HC at the college ranks compare that to the tenure of the pro ranks. Cower has what 14 years at Pitt longest of the pro ranks while guys like Bobby Bowden has 30 years at FSU and Joe Paterno 55 years with Penn St. (assistant and HC) some guys love college footall and if your successful in college you got it made. Pros they love you today and run you out of town tomorrow.

There is no bigger challenge than winning a National Champioship at Notre Dame. It will be amazing if it ever happens again, IMO.
-Toughest schedule in the nation, every year.
-The most strict recruiting standards and requirements in the nation.

Weiss is already heading towards legend status in the minds of those at ND. He just signed a ten year contract and ended up in the top five in recruiting in 2005-06, not to mention just landed the highest rated QB recruit in the nation in the youngest Claussen.

He isn't leaving ND to come to Dallas and have Jones breathing down his neck at every turn. He runs the ship in South Bend. His popularity cannot get any higher at ND. He will stay there and ride it out a while. I would not be suprised if he is not there in ten years. We may be looking at the closest think to a Joe Paterno/Bobby Bowden situation that we will ever see again.

true, but if that's the case, why leave Notre Dame? Joe Pa and Bobby have won chamipionship(s), and they're still trying to get others at the same school

I'm just saying if ND wins, he might strongly consider leaving

He isn't leaving ND to come to Dallas and have Jones breathing down his neck at every turn.

that won't be a problem in Dallas

That is what I'm saying not all coaches are interested in going to the NFL, many like to think college is some stepping stone for coaches and it can be in some cases but in many cases you will see these men love coaching at the college level and have no desire to move to the pros. I don't know if Weiss is interested in returning to the Pro ranks or not and if he wins a national title at ND he will have it made there. Pro coaches get fired a lot quicker even if you won a SB than what we see at the college level.

I can honestly say, I don't think Weiss is driven by money. The money he got from Notre Dame will have him, his kids, and their kids set for life.

Just watching this guy, and knowing what I know about him to this point, if he left Notre Dame, it would not be about money.

Weis actually said the only college football team he would coach for was Notre Dame before he was hired. He said his dream jobs were head coach of ND and head coach of the GMen, and after that any NFL gig.

With that said, I don't understand why people continue to think this is a realistic possibility. He just got a 10 year extension, he has it made at ND, and if ND continues to improve, he's not going to leave an unfinished project when they're that close to a National Championship just because the "almighty" Cowboys need a Head Coach.

IF CW wins a NC at ND this next season, he then outranks the Pope at ND and can pretty much rule forever.
