Cowboys signed former Ohio State LB Bobby Carpenter to a multi-year contract.
Two-thirds of the Buckeye 'backers are under contract. Carpenter has fantastic size at 6-3/255 and knows Bill Parcells from way back; Bobby's dad played under the Tuna. Carpenter, who can play both outside and inside, is expected to start at OLB for the Cowboys in 2006.

Didn't expect to have problems with this class, looks like we considered character as well.

Call me skeptical that this is the only site to report this thus far. They could be right, but honeslty I think they are just running with the "Carpenter left on the Oxnard bound team flight" story. I do think he will sign before camp starts, just not sure that it has in fact alreay happened.

Great job by the front office with not goofing around with trying to be cheap.
We gave fair deals and got the boys in camp where they belong. I'm a happy camper today.

The guys on 103.3 ESPN are still saying the contract has NOT been signed. Hopefully it's just a matter of finding a pen?
