Eisner:
We are expanding our production schedule, adding new shows, programming and operating hours.
We will have a new program about TC. We will mic up a coach and players and show what it's like to attend a TC. The Cowboys decided not to participate.
As of midnight tonight, Comcast is dropping us as a result of the dismantling of Adelphia. They are in a deal with Time-Warner and TW won't pick us up. We are at a stand-off with them.
We will show 8 games that will be starting on TG night. THat is the way it will be from now on. THis year will be the Chiefs and the Broncos.
We will have the Cowboys vs. Falcons. It is the only non-conference game we will have this year.
I will be hosting NFL Gameday with Mooch and a to-be-named player this season. It will be a 90 minute wrap-up show at the end of Sunday.
We will be replaying 4 games a week this year. We will show you the way it appeared on the network and add shots from NFL Films and post-game efforts and commentary. I saw the Redksin playoff last year in this format. Watching like that made it obvious Taylor should have been ejected. You will see alot more.
We will never carry a full schedule of games. We are not here to dominate the universe as some think.
Bryant Gumbel and Chris Collinsworth will be calling all of our games. I will be on for the pre-game chat.

I really liked Eisen on ESPN, and I don't know if this is just me or what, but he comes off as nervous and stumbling for words on NFL Network many times. He appears to have a lot of trouble thinking on his feet and being smooth when things aren't scripted out for him.

Thanks for recap TB. I am looking forward what actually they will re-air, the 4 games per week that Rich is talking about. I.e. will it be actual game in entirity? That would be great if so.

Sounds to me they take the actual game from start to finish and add additional things.

You missed the part where he said his skin appears "silky smooth" on screen. I abhor that man as an NFL analyst. Otherwise, good NFL info.

What does this mean? NFL network not going to be on Comcast? Or Adelphia/TW? Important decisions to be made this week and need clarification!

No actually its not Comcast that is doing that, but Time Warner, but since I guess Comcast has been bought or I forget whatever that deal they have, Turner is now dropping NFL network from Comcast.

Comcast got a few pieces of Adelphia from what I understand, Comcast hasn't been bought.
TW never had NFL Network did they? They are not in my area so can't really say, but the $100 million add campaign would suggest that they didn't.
Anyway, it just made my decision a little more easy thats all. DirecTV again I suppose. I loved it before, but had to drop it due to funding issues :).

Geesh, Comcast is dropping NFL Network, I'll have to go back to Direct TV, which I really don't want to do because the reception is poor.

Been looking, I can't find anything to confirm that they are actually dropping them.
Dallas/Ft. Worth is switching to TW, and since Comcast had NFL Network before and TW won't pick it up maybe thats what he was talking about?
Might have to wait until tomorrow to start making phone calls.

Time Warner customers are going to go nuts if they don't add the channel now that it is broadcasting live NFL regular season games. Watch the cable company capitulate to the mighty NFL before it's all said and done!!

dont know if this was posted alreadyNFL pressing Time Warner to carry network
Sanford Nowlin
Express-News Business Writer
The NFL is gearing up to publicly sack some of the biggest cable operators. The football league, eager for cable companies to carry its 3-year-old NFL Network, next week will launch an ad blitz asking football faithful to pressure carriers to pick up coverage or lose business to competitors such as satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network.
http://www.mysanantonio.com/global-images/pix.gifOAS_AD('Bottom1');
The radio and TV ads will name Time Warner and Cablevision as cable companies that still haven't agreed to carry the network, which now reaches 41 million homes.
"We hope we can call off the dogs, but it's really out of our hands," NFL Network spokesman Seth Palansky said. "Talks are definitely stalled."
The NFL Network airs football-related programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will televise 52 preseason games and eight regular-season games starting in Week 12 with a Thanksgiving night match-up between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs, according to the network's Web site.
It also will replay "four of the most exciting games" from the previous weekend on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the Web site said.
The tiff with Time Warner — San Antonio's biggest cable provider — centers on whether the network would be available to all subscribers, as the NFL wants, or just to those who pay for a sports package, Palansky said.
Tough talk has become a common part of carrier-programmer negotiations, experts said, and in some cases it spills over into the public eye. Cox Communications fought a media war with ESPN three years ago over reported 20 percent rate increases from the sports network.
"Playing one against the other and fighting these things out in public has become pretty common," said Phil Remek, an analyst for Guzman & Co. in Miami. "It happens all the time."
Time Warner spokesman Keith Cocozza said his company is talking with the NFL and is "hopeful" about reaching an agreement to carry the network.
"We're kind of surprised they would want to launch an ad campaign like this while we're still in active negotiations," he added.
Time Warner drew the NFL's wrath, Cocozza said, because it's buying cable systems from bankrupt Adelphia Communications — including in Dallas, Buffalo and Cleveland — that already carry the sports network. The channel would go black without a Time Warner-NFL deal.
Cablevision declined to comment on its talks with the NFL Network, saying it doesn't discuss programmer negotiations.
The dispute comes at a sensitive time for cable companies, which face not only competition from satellite providers but from phone companies AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc., which are rolling out cable-like video services.
Both San Antonio-based AT&T's U-verse service and New York-based Verizon's FiOS carry the NFL Network.
"The NFL is so popular, this could drive some people away from cable," Remek said.

It's not Comcast that will be dropping the network, it is anyplace that is being taken over by Time Warner. I believe that in addition to taking over some cable companies, there has been a swap of some markets between Comcast and Time Warner. Anyone that ends up with Time Warner will lose the NFL Network.

some explain this to me cuz i have never had NFL Network before. Lets say just "if" TW decides to carry NFL network does that mean we will be able to watch the Falcons/Cowboys game on there or would we still need to buy some kind of package like the sunday ticket?

The eight games that will be broadcast on NFL Network will only be available there. You won't have to buy a seperate package. If your provider has NFL Network, you get the game.

Yeah I would have been pissed if Comcast dropped NFL Network from it's package. I'm already dying because they dropped the ball by not capturing the NFL League Package instead of Direct TV.....
