Heads up. I'll try to take some notes but it's tough at work.

-EDIT-
Here's a few things I got...

Ware no longer having to think about assignments. Is stronger and playing more physical.
Never tells the defense to back off and give the offense a break.
Offense putting in new plays every day. Keeps the defense guessing.
Watkins...different body type, size that you like, runs like a deer. Showing up well in coverage stuations.
Sleepers? All the young guys are sleepers right now, many showing flashes. Watkins the most, also Hatcher and Stanley.

I think it should be expected and your right look out. I have high hopes for Ware this season and feel with a year of experiance under his belt he will have a much better grasp of his assignments so that it will allow his physical talents to take over

Hopefully the staff can build on this and add some new twists for him -- I'd love to see him line up like Merriman did last year -- the Chargers used various packages where Merriman would line up on the same side as Foley and Castillo -- pretty much totally overloading a side. A few times I saw Merriman lineup inside with Foley and Phillips as the OLBs.

I did hear Mickey say Dallas has been working on some 5-2 defensive fronts to help bring added pressure on the QB.

During the most recent Ticket Ticker, they played a quote from Zimmer saying that Ware cleaned 425 lbs...

Very interesting, this is the first time I have ever heard a Bill Parcells' coach talk to the media.

I think Bill has a much higher opinion on Zimmer than some fans do. As you said you don't hear his assistant coaches talking to the media very often

I caught the part from Watkins on.... It's all well and good to hear fans and media say a player is showing up, but when the defensive coordinator and former DB coach says it, you can really believe it.

Did he say anything about Carpenter? I thought he would have, but I missed it.

BTW, did anyone else notice Zimmer didn't have that squeaky high-pitched voice he usually has? Maybe that was because he was trying to keep his voice down, but I wasn't even sure it was Zimmer until the interview was over.

He can sound like Laverne or Shirley as far as I care as long as he produces a top 5 D this year.

Glad to hear about Ware's development. While I do look for him to have a very good year, I do think he'll be even better in 07. Wouldn't it be something if he became the absolute best pass rusher in the game today & we all had the chance to watch him develop?

Also pleased to hear Zimmer mention Watkins & even Stanley; I've also heard good things about Hatcher & on offense about Fasano. Have heard a little about Carpenter but he's kind of buried behind Ellis/Singleton/Boiman right now Poor guy, he started out on the 3rd team and now's on the 3rd/4th team since Ellis put in ahead of Singleton. But this will all play itself out as he acclimates himself to the NFL and the 3-4, etc.

I like the idea of a 5-man line.

You have to figure Ware and Ellis for sure.

Maybe Canty, Spears, and Hatcher as well?

That's some athletes on that line.

I like the idea of a 5-man line.I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have always thought it causes Offenses adjustment problems especially if the linemen stunt, which I know we don't do much of per Tuna.

Didn't Spears just get scoped? So it would have to be...... Kenyon Coleman?

There has been a package mentioned with Burnett and Carpenter inside as well -- I was thinking that was some form of 3-4 nickel package -- of course if Ellis and Ware are the OLBs in that you could call it a 5-2.

That might not only be good for Ware but Burnett's skills would fit very well there.

When he was talking about seeing them lined up in the 5-2 front it was with Ellis and Ware on the outside with 2 inside LB
