Hatcher:
The last couple of days of camp have been crazy.
The main thing I remember about draft day was hanging up on Jerry Jones. My face hung it up. :o:
After sitting there 8 hours, I was thinking I wasn't getting drafted at that point. I told my wife if Dallas didn't get me in the 3rd I would be a day 2 guy. Bill Parcells told me he was going to draft me, I just didn't know how high.
The speed of the game is faster, but it isn't that big a change from college for me. You have to earn everything in the NFL. It's not like knowing you can own a player on a particular day.
Ellis is probably getting tired of me asking his advice all day. He is trying to learn a new postion and I am constantly bothering him. Canty has also been very helpful. They are great guys.
I just have to go in every day and work hard. I need to learn the defense and study.
My style of living has definitely changed since I signed (laughing)
Yes I come from a family of 12 kids. It can get hectic at times.
I bought a house in Dallas. It is the nicest house I have ever lived in, Man...
I haven't had too many friends and family call, but if I make the team I will help them (financially) if I can.
As long as I can afford it, I would prefer to have a big family. I like it like that.
Doug Williams was a great guy, a definite father-figure to me. He watched out for me and offered good advice.
I love to hunt and fish. I used to love catching crawdads as a kid.
My hometown was pretty small, but I have been around alot so moving to Dallas has not been that big of a deal.

You don't see Spears there?

Another rookie who wants it bad enough to bug the vets for advice....awesome. I look at Hatcher as Ellis's replacement. They are built alike, both physically & personality wise. Who knows, if Ellis keeps having the same kind of success through the preseason that he had during the scrimmage over the weekend, I think he will ready to concede that he may have been wrong, and that this move will help him to be more effective with less minutes.
It will be fun watching them both play during some of the pass-rushing downs. Throw Carpenter and Ware in there, and we just might have a decent pass rush this year.

I could see Hatcher inside if he gets up to the 310 mark. I think he can do that. It could be one of the most active 3 man fronts you will ever see if dreams do come true!

You don't see Spears there?I'd like to see him move inside to tell the truth. I think he could be a monster NT.

I'd like to see him make it through a TC without getting hurt. Overall IMO he's better suited as a run-stopping DE in a 4-3. That's his natural position.

I don't know, you don't find too many guys with his size and speed. I am not sure why you would want to move him to NT, where pass rushing potential is minimal, as minimal as it is for 3-4 DE.

With Jay Ratliff coming on so strong, boy, we could have one heck of 3-4 DE rotation for 2-3 years at least.
