View Full Version : Have we signed Fredex yet?

I know a lot of peeps are going to think this is crazy, but we need to get this cat signed! Fredex may not have lived up to his 1st round status in philly, but he was a big game receiver and he filled in admirably in 2004 when TO got smacked by RW and missed the rest of the season until the superbowl. It doesn't get any bigger than 4th and 26th with the season on the line!
I think that Fredex would provide great depth and could even push crayton/glenn if he comes to play. As long as he gets rid of the mohawk I think it would be a good move.
Get errrrr done Jerrah!

I think this is crazy. The only things worse than his ego are his hands.

I might be in the minority, but Mitchell would be a good alternative later in the season.
For example, if Owens, Glenn and Crayton are all taken out by a runaway rogue meteor crashing on them, Mitchell would be a nice veteran addition.

In all seriousness though...he does have fresh legs, I don't think he even played a down last season?
If we get him signed with enough time left in camp he will have a chance to get acclimated to our offense and develop some rhythm with Drew.

So a bunch of mediocre looking females clinging onto a mediocre football player is what qualifies for "pimp" status these days?

I can guarantee you not a one of these hang-ons are still around.
This was probably taken when the man actually had a job as an NFL player.

Since this thread *appears* to be serious, here is my serious thoughts on Mitchell.
- He has good hands. Seriously, he is reliable once the ball is thrown to him and he adjusts really well when the ball isn't placed well.
- He has a reputation for running incorrect routes. I don't know if it's 100% true or not, but that's the dirt on Mitchell. He's never where he's supposed to be.
- He does not seperate. I've seen linebackers run step for step with Mitchell. It always seemed to me that he started looking for the ball as soon as he got a 1/2 step on a defender, instead of running full speed and trying to get open better.
- He has NEVER played special teams. I think this is the real reason he doesn't have a job.
- Most of Freddie's catches were the result of broken plays and or improvisation. I think this reinforces the idea that he doesn't run his routes correctly. But when he's called upon, like I said he does catch it. McNabb only went to Freddie after plays had broken down and often it was a 3rd down where McNabb bought time and improvised.
