View Full Version : Tony Romo is gonna win the job

This kid is ready - he's got a big arm and he's got guts - plus he can move . He's done his time on the bench and now he'll show CowboysNation that Tony Romo is your Huckleberry ...

NOW - just b/c he wins the job in the Nation's eyes does not mean Bill P will acknowledge it.

Mark it down 8/8/06

Bledsoe beats this kid out all day every day. Romo gets lots of reps early in preseason because it means NOTHING.

Mark it down eh? Maybe I would if this was the first time it was said, or you were the first person to come up with this. Get over yourself. I really wish people would stop trying to make these prophetic predictions, so later in the year they can say: "See I was the one, I knew it all along,". Of course if it never comes to be they will never mention these comments again.

On second thought I will mark down the date. So I can remember when you made an *** of yourself, and remember the date I stopped reading any posts by you.

I am pretty sure the OP is talking about the starting job. If he is talking about the backup then he is still equally retarded for telling eyerone what they already know.

Right, and no one wants to hear your predictions that have no chance of coming true. This is Bill Parcells, if you have learned anything the past 3 seasons is that he will stick with the vet player until his arm falls off on the field.

You're acting as if Romo would be replacing a legend...he'd be replacing a guy who couldn't beat a two legged deer in a race...a guy who threw the 2nd most picks in the NFL last season -= a guy who has underthrown WR's this camp consistently.
It's RomoTime - accept it.

Again with the mobility thing. Go tell Payton Manning and Dan Marino you have to be able to move outside the pocket to be successful.

Ya he threw the 2nd most picks, but he also threw the 9th most tds, and the 8th most yards.

Bledsoe's a player with a better career td-int ratio than Aikman, and a higher career completion % than John Elway. I'd say he's a pretty good player.

I know you're smart enough to know that what happens in the first week of camp is not law. Yes he may have done poor in practice, but so has Romo. It's Training Camp!! Wait until some games that count are played before you start proclaiming that the sky really is falling.

Let's look at Romo's career stats:

0 career td passes
0 career int passes
0 career passing yards

Does it ever bother you that your "future qb" has as many td passes as I do? I think I'll hold off on the big proclamations.

You have no right to sarcastically reference someone else as "Mr. Positive" after you posted that utter piece of crap of a thread entitled "I hate this team" last evening. You are wrong, if anything previous history should tell you Parcells sticks with the vet, pretty much no matter the circumstances. Get used to a nice long season of Drew Bledsoe to Terrell Owens.

It is hard to even be happy for a marginal or unknown player to do well because there is always some obnoxious person who is lurking about who will always use the opportunity to claim that he "knew" what was going to happen.

"Tony Romo" with a "big arm".....first time those 4 words have been in a sentence together in world history?

Montana never had a big arm. Brady is no Aikman in the velocity department.

I'm not jumping on anyone's bandwagon, and certainly the idea that Romo is winning the starting job this year is ludicrous. BUt what I want to see most from Romo is quick and accurate decision making. As long as the arm is adequate, it makes all he difference in the world.

We shall see.

I like the idea of giving Romo his shot. It shows that BP is willing to let position battles happen vs. the old Parcell's guy don't have to worry about their job.

Bledsoe has had a great career, its well know also that he really lacks any mobility or ability to avoid a rush...and has a tendancy to hold the ball too long. Heck were still hearing about it in training camp.

If Romo can make all the throws and reads that Bledsoe can, get the ball out faster...Have an ability to avoid the rush...Well, then there could be a new sherrif in town.

I guess that is what Saturday will be about, to actually see Tony go against 1st string players in the 1st quarter on Saturday.

As much as we want to see Tony against 1st stringers....It would just like BP to call 15 runs and 3 pass's in that 1st quarter...lol.

Just because Cowboys got T.O. doesn't mean anything. If Bledsoe can't get it off to him guess what? We going to have to look at Romo because we're going to have a losing season, Terrell Owens will be fustrated, and I wouldn't blame him much, because Parcells think this medium aged Bledsoe aka Testaverde is going to do something.

We going to have to look at Romo because we're going to have a losing season, Terrell Owens will be fustrated, and I wouldn't blame him much, because Parcells think this medium aged Bledsoe aka Testaverde is going to do something.

I believe Tony Romo should've been Cowboys starter.

Based on what? couple of pre-season game last season? Now all of a sudden he is Mr. QB ready to take over the team this year? Romo has to go out and earn this backup job 1st of all before anyone would even think about making him a starter or at least any one with any sense.

So you actually know Terrell Owens personally? You talked to him to find this out? You worst than MikeD17 when he had a janitor friend that was telling him updates from Valley Ranch. LMFAO

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm not the one making the stupid comment about how you know TO like Romo better. Sorry but that is about the dumbest comment as I have seen around here

How about we play a team like Pittsburg in the Superbowl? Their going to break a sack record on Bledsoe.

Yes and you think the Boys could win a SB with Q so your credibility on this subject is exactly zero.

GOOD POINT:bow:

I think that Romo is more mobile and Terrell Owens likes him better than Bledsoe any way. He's not going to come out and say it but he does. I believe if Bledsoe keep holding on to the ball like this it is practice with only offense, he's going to lose that starting position.

didn't you later ask someone if they knew TO to ridicule him? my my my, can't even last a few seconds before contradicting yourself

You sir, are an incredible optimist. But Bledsoe is a legend.... in his own mind.

I just want to know where I'm supposed to mark it down.

I can't even find a pen!

Maybe I'll use an etch-a-sketch.

make sure you use a pencil and not pen when you "mark it down"

if ya want the cowboys to make some noise this year ya better hope bledsoe delivers the goods.

cuz if he's supplanted by a guy (romo) whose career stat-line reads "0000000000000" - we're prolly in deep kimchee.

think about it..... uh, hellloooooo!

Its no longer a debate. Romo has nailed down #2 and will push Bledsoe for #1.

Bledsoe holds him off through camp and is going to be the starter. Tomorrows game really means nothing.

i'll never figure out why some people are so insecure in their thoughts they must stroke themselves in front of the world at every opportunity and turn their head in excuses when it doesn't go your way.
