MRI's show no damage, wonder if he's just doin this all to give Mr. Hurd some playtime and get in on some first team reps? Not that he would play much against Seattle anyway but sitting out the first game might give Hurd some time with the first team there as well.. shrug. Just a thought.

Can't really explain the whole bring in his own training staff deal though.

I have heard a lot of complaints about TO...but his work ethic has never been one of them.

I doubt you get get even Garcia or McNabb to critisize Owen's work ethic.

Most likely its exactly how TO says it is. He feels something...its not too bad...but he just wants to be careful with it.

Faking? IMHO no way. I'll leave that to Dale Hanson, GAC, D&E and the rest of the people that depend on others for their living. TO will be there aganst Jack.

Just because an MRI came back negative does not mean there is no injury. It just means there isn't a tear. A pull is not going to show anything. However, trying to push a pull too hard too soon can lead to a nagging injury that lasts all year. WRs across the league miss time in TC every year with hammys. There is a lot right now sitting out. Only TO is 'accused' of faking it. Unfortunately, when you invite the spotlight you also invite the unrelenting search by the media and 'fans' to knock you down.

It seems to me that people, including myself, can question many things about TO.

However I just don't question his work ethic.

I don't think he is faking it at all...worried about it, being overly protective about it, paranoid about it I could see those things, just not faking it IMO.

I don't think any of those people would come up with such a ridiculous theory. They are sensationalists, but not completely mental.

How was TO to know that Bill would move Hurd to 1st string?

I agree. I have some things that concern me with TO, but work ethic is not one of them. I expect in the next week or so this will be a non-issue

When Owens was with SF or Philly, my only exposure of him was through the national media and so I only saw what they wanted me to see or know.

Since he has signed in Dallas, I have been able to read more of what he says, even watch some press conferences or such and I see how the media twists what he says, and sensationalizes his every move, etc.

The closer I am and the more I watch this whole thing, the more I am on TO's side.

For example, what has he done since he was signed by Dallas that is so bad? Nothing !

And yet he is all over the media, they won't leave him alone.

The Bengals have had 5 arrests since the end of last season, the Steelers #1 draft pick has been arrested twice since the draft, ... but all we hear from the media is TO, TO, TO !

And now they are accusing this football warrior of faking an injury, they need to be held accountable.

No. He ha always been ultra professional as an athlete. He is smart, why take a chance that something happens when they have not even begun to play pre-season games?

They are doing that now also.

I had a discussion with my neighbor about this the other day. He said that he couldn't recall the media being as all over this as they were when he went to Philadelphia, even through the drama of the Baltimore incident. I agree. But again, his "attack" on Jeff Garcia wasn't nearly as poorly received as his crime against media darling Donovan McNabb was.

The closer I am and the more I watch this whole thing, the more I am on TO's side.

Willie Roaf of the Chiefs is probably faking his retirement to avoid preseason.

Many star players have staged contract "hold outs" to avoid camp.

And really, what if Owens was indeed doing the same thing? What would be the harm? Really?

Guys will do a lot of things to avoid two-a-days but I can't see Owens faking an injury, then helping a guy who might replace him. I dislike Terrell Owens for a lot of things but his work ethic isn't one of them.

You can stop wondering about it now.

Anyone who questions Owens injury really is out to run him into the ground. He has alot of personality flaws. But, one thing that noone in their right mind can question, is his work ethic.

This is a guy who worked his way back so that he could play in the SuperBowl for Philly, when all the medical experts said there was no way he would come back.

HAvent you heard, Garcia is Rat, no one cares about him, but when you mess with Mcnabb and his moma, then it becomes a issue. Remember he wqas Ohily saviour, the guy to lead them to stardom, now he's the devil reincarneted. its the mcnabb effect.

Geez, about 2 people actually read my post and everyone else just looked at the topic, guess I shoulda said for Hurd in the topic since this was basically as much about Hurd as it was T.O.

Yeah, I wouldn't know for sure if Hurd was gonna be given 1st team reps because of it but still, it definitely would give him much more playtime because right now everyone is focused on "developing chemistry" with T.O. in the lineup.

As for taking his job.. come on now.. it's still an UDRFA and T.O.... be real. If anything he'd take TG's job but it's pretty safe to say T.O. is safe there even a year or 2 down the line.

It definitely has given Hurd some moments in the spotlight and making some good catches on the first team corners has caught BP's eye as well as many others, which pretty much guarantees his spot on the roster at the very least.

Actaully it doedsnt make sense, because when TO went Down that meant Crayton, was starting not hurd. not untill TG went down did Hurd start, and really grab attention

I'm in agreement with most of my peers on here that he is not faking. Im actually happy his being careful. U better believe he doesnt want to get hurt cuz u know he wants some action vs the eagles. i think that is why he is being extra careful he wants to be 100 percent ready and i actuall believe he doesnt want to let down any of the team by getting hurt

There is more truth to this than I believe anyone wants to admit.

McNabb has made a career out of playing the victim. I honestly think he likes it because it detracts from the flaws that do exist in his game.

I don't know, the Eagles thought he was faking his injury last year in training camp. Remember, that is what led to his meeting with Andy Reid when he got sent home.

I agree with you as well, but I feel the way he is dealing with it, is only hurting him and your team. He has this reputation of being a catylst for distaster, and on the outside it appears to be doing that again. It is like he is drawing the line, and saying he calls the shots, by bringing his own trainers rather than the teams, the speculation that he didnt talk to Parcells directly, etc. I mean look at it this way, Keyshawn has a terrible rep, and I know how you guys love him, but in Carolina he has been nothing but an angel, and he is making sure to do everything that will keep him in good light with the media. Of course the media jumps on T.O. more than Keyshawn, but you guys get my point.

Well there are injuries and there are injuries. I'm sure Owens' hammy is a bit tweaked but not so much that if this were the regular season it would keep him out of the game. I don't believe he is "faking" it but he is probably milking it as long as possible.

Owens has the same attitude as Deion (and A.I.), that he is so good he doesn't really need to practice so he will always find an excuse for not being out there with the team.

To be honest, there is some truth to that in that he already knows how to run the routes and catch the ball so what is there to practice. It's not like they are going to bench him during the regular season for not practicing in the summer. If this were Copper or Hurd or one of the other young guys fighting for a roster spot then it would be a major issue, but with the starters they usually can get away with taking some time off in TC.

Just to be clear, I HATE that attitude! It is just the reality of the situation and coaches are usually a lot more bark than bite when it comes to highly paid veterans.

Yet another reason why I didn't want Owens on my team.

I remember Hakeem Olajumwon having the same type of injury back in the late '80s-early '90s and the Rockets thought he was faking it. Nothing but problems came from the situation due to trust issues for several years, so Dallas giving Owens the benefit of the doubt with this type of injury is the right thing to do.

Was this during preseason? I remember Owens shouting back to an asst. coach, refusing autographs, etc. as the reason he was sent home.

For the record I don't think he's faking, as most of the guys here said preparation has been one of his better traits.

Does anyone think that TO comes back on Monday, thats 3 more days of healing. Of course then he will pull the "im not in shape yet" card.
