Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up on your team's ratings for the new game.

http://sports.ign.com/madden07/cowboys.html

Owens, Rivera, and Vanderjagt make up your top three.

The entire NFC East is here:

Interesting that Henry is an 89 while Newman is an 87.

Odd to have Beriault, last year's #6 who will likely be released, but not Watkins, this year's #5 who will likely start.

guess he made a few mistakes in his ratings.
It happens every year. The people who do the Madden ratings (they contract a company that does it for them, if I'm not mistaken) have to guess at who will make the team. They don't have inside information, so they really are guesses. Also, they have to finalize the game in late July, probably before training camp starts. With those things said, they do make some really bizarre mistakes sometimes. Last season's Madden Cowboys team didn't have Chris Canty on it, but did have Willie Blade.

isnt cooley rated as a FB?

I don't care if he is rated as a waterboy, he isnt a 98 at any aspect of his existence, let alone a football player

Watkins isnt on that list....?

there still trying to get the jump rating past 99, so there just gonna add him a little later, because they have to go back on some maps and make the roofs a little higher

They low-ball our players consistently on Madden but I think there's a reason for it. It doesn't excuse the low ratings, but I believe the effect our Head Coach (Dallas Coach for those of you who play) on the players' ratings forces EA to intentionally give our players lower initial ratings in the game. In the game some teams' coaches raise some of the player attributes because of their (the coaches') ratings.

BP bumps up the awareness ratings of our defensive players by 7, with a bump of 5 for the offensive players. I guess it's EA's way of leveling out the playing field. If they gave our players the good ratings they deserved in addition to the bump they receive from being coached by Parcells, it would probably be unfair and make the team almost unstoppable in the game. Just a theory. Still hate to see Newman rated so low when the guy didn't surrender a single TD last year.

I checked out a few players on every team and this is ridiculous. Merriman's 2 extra sacks last year have him at 92 over Ware's 86. Carpenter is 2 points faster than Ware . Watkins doesn't exist. Roy got worse despite his great season. Canty is only a 79. Newman Newman Newman; I don't care, that guy should be a 95. Shanle and Fowler are both in the 60s.

There also seem to be a whole bunch of new ratings. It's almost a little overkill I think.

Rookie notes: Reggie Bush is an 87 overall. 89 speed for Vince Young. Vernon Davis and Manny Lawson on the 49ers had speed ratings of 92 and 90 . Mario Williams was given Julius Peppers type ratings.

Lots of other stuff, you guys can check it out. I know when I buy it I'm adjusting the ratings as I see fit. EA really took a crap on the Cowboys.

I always go in and tinker with the roster and add guys that are on the team like Watkins this year. I will bump up T-New's rating for sure, Bradie James deserves to be a bit higher than an 83 based on his play last year. And I'll probably bump up Romo's to a 99. not really but low 80's for sure
