Hi guys,
I just moved to California but desperately want to watch every cowboy games (hopefully live) including this Saturday preseason game. Any suggestions ? Hopefully it is cheap and easy instead of getting DirecTV to watch all teams.

Thanks !

direct TV is about your only hope, this game is supposed to be on telemundo, but for future references Sunday Ticket is the only way you will be able to watch the Cowboys on a regular basis.

Any online stuff for preseason game ?
What is Sunday Ticket ?

Sunday Ticket is the direct TV package for all the NFL games.

There usually isnt any online stuff as it even costs money to listen to NFL games now, and I doubt there will be anything on the streaming programs. I think the game will be on the NFL network on Sunday afternoon, that might be your best chance.

Do you need to install DirecTV satellite first ? I only got basic comcast cable now.

Of course you have to have the dish to have a signal. The box is untraceable.
But you have to have service also. so you could pay for the basic package like 29.99 a month and have all the channells in all the states.

Its not the box, its the card.

I knew someone that had one of those years ago.

DTV is much more diligent about eliminating those cards now. They do frequent checks with the cards/dishes.

However, if you have some info that I dont know about feel free to PM me.

Go to a sports bar. It'll probably end up costing more than getting the ticket though.

I'm currently stationed at Korea, and the game will be broadcasted over here. I don't get to watch the game until Monday, probably cause of the time difference. It's still pretty sweet, though. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to watch any Cowboy games here. I had DirecTV for 6 years straight to watch Cowboy games. I'm really going to miss it this year.

Is there a way to get around having Directv for a full year and getting Sunday Ticket? I only want it for football season, however they charge a penalty if you disconnect before the end of the 'contract'..

Hey mortboy,
As far as watching the game in Korea, if your in the military majority of the games will be broadcasted on the Armed Forces Network. If you not in the military I know they do have sports bars, downtown they might broadcast them there. I have only been here in Korea for 2 months.

Thank you

I moved to Houston and now cannot get all the games...but I do have the NFL network, so I will be able to capture make vids of anything they broadcast.

I will try to put some vids up if no one else does in the same format I used the past few years with every play of the game included.

I had it years ago. If you go and buy the dish at say a "best buy" "Sam's club" or someplace like that, and install it yourself you can buy any package you want. If you buy from one of those "we install for free" deals, you will probably have to commit to a 6 month package. That's why they give you the system for nothing and install for free, because you have to buy the 6 month package. But if i'm not mistaken you can just go buy a direct dish and install it yourself. At least that's the way it was 5 years ago when i had one.

Unfortunately, I don't Telemundo. I'll have to wait until Sunday's NFL Network Broadcast. I will be broadcasting it to anyone that cant watch. I just upgraded my bandwidth today, so I should be able to handle about 5 people.

Bob Dole read that the game would be available on Time Warner cable, which carries supposedly Telemundo, but Bob Dole looked for Telemundo today and couldn't find the channel.

Can anyone living in Southern California with Time Warner check and see what number Telemundo is for you on the channel guide?

The Cowboys game comes on Monday at 1600, on channel 11 AFN Sports channel. I don't thinks its live, it's taped delayed. That sucks!. Here is AFN schedule page, go to Monday and you will see the game there at 1600. Hope this helps.

Just buy an appetizer and watch the game. Don't know if Sports bars run the preseason games, though.

If you have NFL Network through DirecTV or other cable subscriber, they'll be airing it at 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

It is not broadcast on the NFL Sunday Ticket live. :(

Hey Sgt. I will be in Korea on opening day Sept 10. Do you know where I could catch the game while I am there?Along these lines, I have been meaning to ask a similar question. I am being sent to southern China on business from 9/2 until 9/16 so I'll be there for opening weekend.

Does anyone know if you can get the games in China either?

I have considered buying one of those slingboxes so I can watch my home TV from anywhere. But I'm not sure that the Internet connection across the Pacific is going to be good enough. Anyone try this before?

Yeah, the last I heard was that DTv is so good at eleminating cracks that it's virtually impossible to use cards to get free service. Dish Network is far easier to crack than DTv, but it doesn't have NFL Ticket, so what's the use.

I was looking at the schedule and I noticed that the channel that the game is playing on is KTVT, CBS 11.

I have CBS, but when I looked at the local program guide, it said something else was on.

Can this be true?

:(

I live in the U.T. area of Austin. Is there any other place or channel to watch the game?

Angus
08-12-2006, 11:35 AM
It is not carried nationallly by CBS, but is in selected areas. It is carried by the CBS station in Austin but delayed an hour so that it follows the Texan game on the same channel. The Texan game starts 7:00 pm. The Cowboys game starts in Austin on CBS (hopefully) at 10:00, though it will have been going on for an hour on the radio.

for those inquiring about hacking DirectTV. Lets give you a little history. Yes the cards were hackable years ago (when direct tv outsourced card security). However, Direct TV learned its lesson and now the security (encryption) is done in-house and cracking the code is very, very difficult now. I dont even know of anyone doing it anymore. I had a friend who messed with this a few years ago while Direct TV sent out thousands of lawsuites and my friend had to hire an attroney to represent him in federal court (yes hacking tv signal is a federal offense). He ended up paying around 6,000.00 dollars in attorney fees just to prove his innocence. My advise...get a job and pay for the stinkin service and stay off Direct TV hit list.

Yep. You could unlock the early cards easy like the P3 and P4 easily with an unlooper. Not so much anymore.

I'll be broadcasting every week this year. I don't know how I'm gonna do it yet. Maybe a Cowboys trivia thing or something, and the first five get to watch (the game broadcast, not me doing the telemundo :lmao2: ).

I want to do some testing during the preseason to see how many clients I can handle with this bandwidth upgrade. I've got 8000down/768 up now.

My goal is to be able to host as many as I can without too many latency issues.
