I have a feeling if he makes it to the open market, we will never get him back. Then again, he might not sign if he thinks Bledsoe will be here next season.

No we don't want him to quit...lol
Romo isn't going anywhere. This is the best place for him to start.

Why wouldn't he want to come back? He knows Bledsoe will be 35.

The reason for his extensive playing time this preseason is due to the fact he will be a FA and we need to know if he finally gets it or not. Regardless of the situation with Bledsoe, Romo keeps playing like he did tonight he will in line for a big contract soon.

well, his resume ain't impressive at all. he's in no position to opt for free agency because he wants a starting job. Teams have NO TAPE on him from the regular season.

It's way way way too early for him to even think about demanding a guaranteed starting job. Generally, a player should have at least started 1 regular season game before he is guaranteed anything at all.
Bottom line is that Romo has as strong of a chance of being the long-term starter here as he would on any other team in the league. But here, he also knows he'll have a strong defense, a proven head coach, multiple offensive weapons, and a front office that takes care of its players.
Not to mention, starting at QB for the Dallas Cowboys is one of the highest profile jobs in all of sports. If you have a head on your shoulders, you don't turn down Eva Longoria for a nightcap, and you don't pass up an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Staubach and Aikman.
