The NFL Draft has to be the most second guessed, critized event in all of sports!
All the fans spend time looking at players, discussing moves, and hoping a team takes their favorite players, and when they don't everybody sucks.
Well stop looking at what you felt we should have done, and look at what we have!

I have no problem with the fisrt day of the draft, nor should you!
All I really wanted in this draft was a running game! And if I remember correctly the majority of people felt the same way.

Going into the off-season I wanted offense, offense, offense!!!
A running back who can make plays, a possesion receiver who is physical and will move the chains, a solid RT who can run block and pass protect, and any more players who could be a mauler on the O-Line.

What has held this team back, OFFENSE!
WHY?
We had trouble pass protecting, run blocking, and a RB with no moves or heart!
Add that in with a QB with little experience and a lack of elite talent, and well you know the rest.

So what did we get?
Julius Jones! I read people saying he sucks, fumbles, etc.. Well if that is your view I can only say you have not watched him play, nor do you know much about football. I do not know how good he will be, but I can say the exact same thing about Jackson and Kevin Jones, although I really liked Kevin.
I do know though that he does not suck. The kid is quick, fast, can stop on a dime, and start up just as fast, and is a tougher inside runner then most think.
There is no doubt JONES is a substancial upgrade over Hambrick who will give us much better production, and he is a threat to make plays! That is the biggest thing here, making plays!
Plus we got a First round pick next year, and the 5th we picked up turned into 3 more draft picks. Not bad!
He also is really fun to watch tote the rock!

Jacob Rogers! I had him as the 4th rated Tackle on my board, as did many publications. He should start right away in a position that was a must to address.
He is not a mauler, but he pass protects well, which is big here if you just remember how many times pressure came off the right edge last year. Anything that gives us better pass protection is huge, and he is a good wall run blocker, which should be fine with a runner like JJ.

Peterman! Was also the 4th rated Guard on my board. This guy is nasty and good. He could end up starting from the get go, but if he does not and either Allen or Gurode don't pick it up we got a player here. Regardless he makes our Line better, deeper, and meaner!

Sean Ryan! I have read several posts on here saying they do not understand this pick. Well let me put it into perspective for you! It is about the runnning game baby! Just like everything else I said so far. Ryan was not brought in to catch seam passes!
How many times last year do you remember us failing on short yardage situations?
Come on, think hard, because I remember at least 10, and most were critical to our eventual loss! Remember Tampa, Philly, New England. The inability to convert 3rd and one's killed us in those games, and it was not just Hambone either.
I do not know a whole lot about Ryan, but from everything I have researched so far this guy can block! 3rd and short, 2 TE's, lets maul em Parcells style!

So you may have had your favorite players, but we fixed the most imparative areas of this offense to take it up a notch. And with the addition of KEY and his toughess, fighting for the ball, and BLOCKING, this offense should be much better with everything else being equall

Not to mention we need the line in tact, and JJ running well when Henson takes the reigns. Let's set him up right! I would use next years 2 #1's to get offensive weapons to give him a full arsenal!

As some of you who were in the chat room with me know, I was not happy about trading down. But, according to Micks' shots, The Cowboys had Jackson, K.Jones, Perry and J.Jones all ranked very close to either. In fact, they had K.Jones ranked over Jackson.

If truth be told, and the Cowboys were forced to select a running back in the first round, they would have taken Kevin Jones of Virginia Tech over Steven Jackson. And it was Jones the Cowboys were trying to trade back into the first round for when owner Jerry Jones they came very close to accomplishing while sitting in the second round

If this is true, then the team did the right thing. And as you said, the team did improve the offense by acquiring two offensive lineman who could start, a starting running back and possibly a TE who can contribute.

Mark me down as being on board.
