Just listening to 1310 The Ticket. There saying that Parcells is yelling and tearing into Terry Glenn like none other. They've never seen Parcells this upset. Pretty funny how there trying to whisper on the radio and stuff, haha.

What did Glenn do to get BP upset? Are blisters only reserved for women?

How did he manage that one?..
Patrick Crayton, Terry Glenn, Bobby Carpenter and Ryan Fowler are also missing practice. Crayton could out for as long as four weeks with a high right ankle sprain. Glenn, Carpenter and Fowler should all return by tomorrow.

Probably because he isn't practicing, but you never know.
I'm sure Parcells is getting frustrated with his receiving unit right now.

I love Parcells.. I think he is a genius.. But I do think that he rushes players back from injury too quickly.. I agree that some players may take advantage, but most of these guys want to be out there playing and not lose their jobs.. the risk is bigger than the reward in his thinking, in my opinion.. TO, for all his antics and his big mouth, has always been known as a hard worker and a big practice guy.. and Glenn got hurt the other night and is also dealing with blisters.. he really just might need the day off to heal..

It's probably some choreographed display to get the attention of some of the younger guys (and maybe Owens, too).
They probably worked on the script this morning.
Terry: "OK, but please don't call me 'she' again."

I'm thinking that may be it. Simms has talked about how Parcells would go up to him before practices & tell him that he was gonna get chewed out that day, as a message to the rest of the team. If Terry is pedalling anywhere in the vicinity of TO in the Tour de Oxnard, Parcells very likely told "her" before practice that "she'd" be hearing from him--as a way of getting a message to TO that he could soon be in the line of fire. (And/or Parcells is yelling something like "You need to get your a** in there & practice if you think you want to be starting any time soon," again as a way of sending a message to TO.)

I don't understand what he is upset about either unless he's mad about his getting blisters. That I don't understand myself.

If he is yelling at Glenn, it is because Glenn understands that he's really yelling at others through Glenn. Vets who you've got a good relationship with can be good punching bags.
Phil Jackson wrote in his first book that he used Horace Grant for this purpose all the time.

Sending a message to T.O. perhaps? I doubt it - but I'm sure the Dallas media will make this a huge ordeal.

i understand this, i see where someone would do it - but i *hate* those types of "lies" to produce head games. say what you mean and stand by it. it's all this false yelling and secondary BS that makes people keep trying to 2nd guess parcells.
he seems to encourage it.

geeze...or maybe he's yelling because he's mad??? Maybe he's tired of Glenn milking some freakin' blisters to sit out of training camp practices and drills and Parcells sees that his WR corps is not working towards being ready to hit on all cylinders by opening day.
I'm quite sure Parcells would rather see Glenn, Crayton, and T.O. miss some preseason games than miss weeks of practicing.

Good thought but that would be wasted on TO who doesn't have a clue.

If this is set up, sweet move by my future husband.
If my hearing serves me correct (press conference), he's this close from the edge with TO not being in practice yet. He's giving him all the space he needs. So is Jethro. When will the madness stop.

heh - but it is parcells own nature to encourage the 2nd guessing and head games. possible? sure it is and likely the issue - his own frustration coming out. but w/bp you just never know.

He's probably legitimately upset. The position is short, and its all hands on deck at the moment. The Cowboys also gave him a raise and an extension over the offseason (which was a nice gesture, since they really didn't need to). More is expected from him. With Keyshawn gone, he's supposed to be the leader of the WR corps.

Which one, Parcells or Glenn?

I agree with IR. I think he's genuinely p!ssed at Glenn. Sure, he's probably a little annoyed with the whole TO thing. But he's likely much more upset with one of his guys(TG) sitting out practice with sore feet, particularly with the current WR situation.
Honestly who knows. With Parcells, you never really know what his motives are. But I'd have to guess he's much more disappointed in Glenn than trying to send a mesaage to anyone else on the team or anything else.

You know, it is one thing for us to second guess it. However, if I'm a player who is trying to make this team? I'm going to work my butt off to make sure that I don't make a mistake that draws Bill's fire. You see a guy like BP go off in person and the last thing you do is think "oh, he's just playing a head game"

It's probably a bit of both. His growing irritation with the TO situation making his outburst at Glenn more intense that would be otherwise.
Who knows.

I guess that your forgot about how much of a master manipulator coach Jimma was? Jimma has a Masters in Philosophy!
All coaches do wierd things...to get the point across!
During my hey day, I was told that I would not play because I missed two grounders while playing catcher in baseball...out of about 100 pitches in practice, I missed two...!
I played the next game, and hit the only home run...on the first pitch, my first at bat! I was sent to the bench for the rest of the game! Coach would not even let me play first base! (dirty bastid)...

If Bill is going off on Terry for malingering (which I doubt), so be it.
If he's making an example of him for the younger players' sake, then so be it as well. Parcells does that, with the complicity of the player being set up as the whipping boy.
But if he's making an example of Terry for TO's sake, shame on him.

Terry always takes one for the team...! She's a bad (shut your mouth)...!
All I think this is...is just Bill getting "froggy" from winning a preseason game! Parcells is a weirdo...! But, I also think he knows what he's doing...maybe T.O. needs to see, also!
Remember that saying..."we got to intergrate him into the system"....

Parcells has one-sided discussion with T. Glenn...

IRWIN THOMPSON / DMN
Several of you have contacted me about a conversation that Bill Parcells had with Terry Glenn before practice. I know it's been reported by The Ticket radio station that Parcells cussed out Glenn, who missed his second practice of camp with blisters on his big toes.
I didn't witness the conversation, but our Todd Archer reports that it was definitely one-sided. Thanks to my friends at Fox 4, I just watched video of the conversation, and Glenn appeared to receive quite a tongue-lashing.
I'm not trained in the art of lip-reading, but I can recognize an expletive when I see one. Parcells dropped a couple on Glenn, but the conversation only lasted a couple of minutes.
What you should keep in mind, though, is that Glenn is one of Parcells' all-time favorite players, and those are often the ones he's hardest on. Just thought we'd cover the issue since several of you seemed concerned.

I saw it on cbs 11 last night. He had him off to the side of the field, looked like near the fence and was pointing at him in the chest and yelling...it looked like glenn tried to get a word in and parcells head started shaking and terry just shut up and got yelled at some more!!

i just read today on DC.COM that this tongue lashing went for 25 minutes!!!!
how can you yell at someone for that long, yet alone have it be a one sided yelling!!!!!
now i'm dying to know what this was about.
Before Monday's practice, an animated Parcells spoke to Glenn for nearly 25 minutes in what seemed to be a one-way conversation. Glenn spent the rest of practice on the stationary bikes and working with the strength and conditioning staff.
