I've definitely seen hype about this movie for a long time. Problem is i just moved and don't know wnyone here yet and going to that movie by myself would be really lame.

The only thing that bothers me about this movie is they're already proclaiming it a cult classic before anyone has seen it, before any public reaction, before any midnight viewing parties years after the fact, etc..... That's today's society for ya. We're spoon-fed what we have to believe even with our bad movies. :p:
i wouldn't watch that queer movie if someone paid me a million clams.

Not sure if some know the story behind the movie.
Some writer came up with the title and the script.
He made it with the funny name and it is in the vain of the cult classic B movies of old.
Soon it started gaining attention on the internet.
The internet attention got so intense that the people who wrote the screen play started listening to the people on the net and took suggestions and some lines to put into the movie.
The studio that signed the script to be made into a movie tried to change the movie title to something like Pacific flight 103 (something along those lines) and the net people threw a fit because it took away from teh B movie campy/cheesy aspect of the title and film.
So it was made like a cult film and that is what people expect.
It was not made to be some high tech thought provoking drama or action movie. It was not made in the mode of a blockbuster action movie.
Will it be good...depends if you like campy/cheesy cult classic types of films. If you don't like films in the vein of the Evil Dead, Hills have Eyes and those types of cult classics...chances are you will not like it.

Yep, I saw it. About 80% full and the audience was nuts, throwing around rubber snakes and clapping all the time.
You haven't lived until you've seen 300 people from good ol' Utah all scream 'That's it! I've had it with these (censored!) snames on this (whoops!) plane!'
Classic.

And Sam took the movie on the title alone. :D

I haven't seen it.
The thing that puzzles me about the movie is this:
It wouldn't be difficult to deal with snakes on a plane. They are cold blooded - in cold temperatures, snakes really slow down.....
All the pilot would have to do is chill the plane and then he'd have some very sluggish, sleepy snakes.
The passengers would be cold, but given the alternative, seems like a no-brainer.
It wouldn't make much of a movie, though.

I had no interest in the film until I saw a clip on the Daily Show.
It had Sam Jackson yelling "I am getting M- sick of these M- snakes on this M- plane!"
That's going to be a classic line right there.
Still not seeing it.

I have no desire to see it . . . and I don't see what is so great about the Samuel L catch phrase (I'm sick of snakes on the play, or whatever).
The movie looks retarded.
That was my first impression when I saw the previews . . . and it looks stupider and stupider everytime I see it advertised.
I did see it reviewed by viewers on some website, and everyone was raving about how much fun it was. But that only reminds me how many stupid people there are in the world.

I just now got back from seeing it. I liked it.
The "stupider and stupider" impression is true. As the movie unfolds, it becomes an absurd comedy. Which I found funny (and laughed a lot), but different people have different senses of humor.
Still puzzled about the plane temperature thing, though.

I think that's the point.
Go into it expecting it to be silly and just appreciate the movie's ability to poke fun at itself by not taking it too seriously.
Sounds like a good time to me.
I'll be seeing it.
