View Full Version : Anyone see the Neil Rackers commercial?
He kicks 4 balls from at least 40 yards out,and on first 2 hits the left goal post, and the next 2 kicks hits the right post.i dont thing many quarterbacks could do that with arm.its literally amazing, this guy is the best kicker in football by far.reminds me of tiger bouncing the golfball on club,etc...

I thought that was special FX... like Vick throwing the ball out of the stadium.

It's hard to tell with all of the technology, but the radio announces in Houston were saying Toni Fritsch did that regularly in practice for the Oilers. Pretty amazing.

I don't think our problem is finding a kicker who can hit the goal posts. We need one who can kick it between them. :)

I know I do. All I want is one that is big, powerful...long...and true when it splits.....the uprights.

I believe the Ronaldinho commercial did involve some CGI; apparently, though, there is footage of Mardona actually doing this from the penalty spot (12 yards away from the goal, vs. 18 yards in the 'joga' commercial)

Yeah I was going to cite that as another example of trick photography... sort of like LeBron draining those 3's from the far baseline in that Nike (or whatever) commercial.

Last kick starts out left and hits the right upright dead on. That's some serious English on the ball. Especially with a relatively dead wind on the flags. That would mean Rackers manipulated the ball from left to right away from his body.
Basically he hits a slice on his last kick.

Both the Rackers and Ronaldinho are fake in the most obvious - well maybe not so obvious - of ways.
If you listen to the sound of the balls banging off the goals (the field goal and the soccer goal), they both make the same sound.
A ball traveling 50 plus yards and a ball traveling 20 yards aren't going to make the same noise bouncing off different goals, especially with different balls.
The sounds are going to vastly different.
Besides, a soccer goal is anchored and would not make the same sound as goal post uprights, which are not anchored and would cause more of a vibration sound.
That's my take.
