A few blurbs
Ed Werner
Parcells comfortable starting TO
Happy w/conditioning and hamstring
Comfortable with TO's conversion w/the new offense. Thinks there will be mistakes, hopefully not that many
Carpenter not playing
Vandy will not kick; going w/Suisham
Irvin
Never saw a hamstring get that much coverage
Lost 3 games by 3 points or less. Isn't TO worth 3 pts a game?
Could go 12-4 and shall I say superbowlish?
Tom Jackson
Thinks TO will cause some trouble in Dallas. Don't know when or what, just thinks he will.
Mike Ditka
Basically said TO will help.
Kinda missed Ditka's whole analysis, but that was the gist of what I got.

Ed Werder: No Vandy and no Carp today. Parcells had several conversations with Owens. Owens will start. Parcell's believes Owens is healthy. Pleased with Owen's extra time on practice field. The transition to a new offense remains challenge. The 2.5 mil bonus not affecting decision on Vandy, he will not kick.
Mike Irvin: Defense - super bowlish. To Cowboys credit - got through the hardest part, the offseason - lots of coverage for hammy . Cowboys lost 3 games by 3 pts or less, TO not worth 3 pts each game? Probably home field advantage, super bowlish
Tom Jackson: TO played 7 games, ruined a franchise - possiblity something will happen with TO.
Mike Irvin: TO got his money. TO is happy, everything is hunky dory
Mike Ditka - Be ontime play attention and play like hell. If TO does that he'll be a big addition, if not he'll be a distraction.
Not really anything new, but good to see them open with the 'boys.

More Cowboys coverage later. Also, Babe Laufenburg show is on on CBS11 and Parcells is on with him.

Is Steve Young being replaced by Ditka? There was something written a while back about how Steve Young wants to work less due to wanting to spend time w/the family. Ditka is supposed to replace him on those weeks. Odd that Young wouldn't work on opening day.
Not a big loss, IMO.

They also timed it that ESPN put on the TO vs. BP and other topics at the top of the hour. To get people to stay tuned to ESPN instead of flipping over to FOX or CBS and their opening shows.
