Guys, some of you may know that I'm coaching a peewee football team up here this fall.

We had our preseason this past Sunday and I noticed alot of the kids were leaving skin on the turf. The refs were pulling them off onto the sidelines and making coaches from both sides bandage them up. Needless to say this was irritating and the kids weren't even complaining about the rug burn.

Does anyone know what product the players in college and pros use to tape their forearms up? I often see players with a long white strip of tape lengthwise down their forearms, possibly just for this particular reason.

FYI, the kids are playing on an artificial field with polyester green fibre 5 inches long. The fibre is backfilled with crumb rubber from recycled tires. Excellent field and the kids like it, but the sports association who runs the facility does not want any blood on the field so we have to bandage up every little wound.

You may want to try ace bandage sleeves. They fit nice and tight and may help some to prevent the rug burns.

...Canadian. It's irritating giving up the ball after two downs. You can hardly get any rhythm going on offence with the young kids. Add in only three downs and it's usually a low scoring affair.

Any ideas on the tape?

... from Adams USA. We just want the tape for the elbows and something for this Sunday until our arm sleeves come in.

Go to your local drug store and look around they have a lot of different types of bandage wraps but I will say the elbow is a hard area to keep the tape in place and still give the kids freedom of movement. You may find some type of padding that you can tape to kids elbow.

They have tape that isn't so adhesive that it takes skin and hair with it. Perhaps they'd give you a few rolls of it. Ace usually has the best stuff. You could always go long sleeves under the uniforms too.
