Jags place Hayward on IR, sign two players
Updated: Sep.12, 2006, 1:02 pm EDT
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars placed defensive end Reggie Hayward on injured reserve Tuesday, two days after he ruptured his left Achilles' tendon.
To replace Hayward, the Jaguars signed rookie defensive tackle Montavious Stanley to their active roster. Stanley had been on the Rams' practice squad. A sixth-round pick by Dallas in April, Stanley was waived in final cuts and signed by St. Louis.

I'm almost certainly wrong, but I have a feeling the decision to let Stanley go may prove to have been a bad one.

I always thought that Bill thought that he could get him on to the Practice Squad, to give him a year of seasoning and then let him compete for the job nest year. He didn't talk much towards the end of pre-season on him, while he talk alot about him the beginning of Training Camp.
I do hope that this doesn't come back and bite us like Steve Smith did.

Of course you do.
Not a single personnel decision by the Cowboys ever occurs without someone having a feeling that the team made a bad decision.

Jimmy Smith, but I get what you mean. He might do well there, but it may also be because he can play in the 4-3 where he's more comfortable. We'll see in a few years.
