Just saw a commercial/informercial for DVD's.... BP said, "I will show your young man how to be a successful player" - I am paraphrasing...

"Then I will pschologically mess with him to see if he can take it" LMAO

No but you know Mad TV could do a skit on this, I mean how about TO doing hammy stretches, Q doing the bongercise, and Vanderjack of course teaching the wide right style that made him the most inaccurate kicker of the 2006 pre-season......

I really don't think Parcells plays mind games with anyone. If fact, I think he does pretty much the opposite.

He tells you exactly what he wants from you and expects from you. He doesn't "mind game" it into you.

The only thing he does that could be considered a "Mind game" is he puts an incredible amount of pressure on you. But I personally don't think that's a "mind game". He's only preparing his players for what they'll face on the field. He wants them to be use to facing pressure so that when they face it in a game, it's not foreign to them.

All these people (mediots) that accuse him of playing mind games don't really understand him at all. He's as straight forward a person you'll ever know of. He doesn't have to play mind games when he's more then willing to be as blunt as you can be and tell you exactly what he thinks of you.

I don't know.

Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor still talk about the psychological warfare that went on between Parcells and his players.

LT says Parcells used to walk by his locker and talk about how some other OLB is better than him, etc. .... Simms saying that Parcells would alert him that he would rip into him during practice to make a point with some other players, etc.

Oh, he'll tell you that you suck (if that's being a straight shooter), but he also plays mind games. Most coaches do. Heck, Jimmy had a degree in industrial psychology.

Not everything is the "mediots' " fault.

One thing he does do that could be considered a "mind game" is when he does stuff like put an empty gas tank in a players locker.

But I just don't like the phrase "mind games". It's not a game. It's a method to aid a player in self realization (best I could do).

It's a way to get a player to see things a different way. But it's not a "game". He doesn't do it for fun, he does it to help his players.

And as far as LT goes, he'd probably think "connect 4" was a "mind game".

I read an article from SI back in the late 80s before a playoff game against the Rams, Parcells called LT over and told he was being traded to the Saints for Pat Swilling, LT started freaking out asking "why coach, why?" and Parcells told him "Because Pat knows how to get by Jackie Slater". LT was so motivated he did something SI said was a first...lifted weights.

Yup - Bill knows how to motivate a guy

Hasnt he already admitted to playing mind games with players?

LOL

I heard a similar LT story... went something like this...

BP asked LT after a game(poor performance by LT) if he wanted to change his number to 77(for example)... LT said no why? BP replied he was on you so much that I thought that was your number anyways....

next game LT had a monster game....
someone probably knows the story in more detail.... if you know... by all means........

Someone tell BP to mess with DeMarcus then. Have him hand a pack of cigars to Mr. Ware. And when Ware says wut are these for? BP can tell him "if u can get close to Brunell at least you'll have ur cigars."

Is this the Dr. Phil thread?
Who cares if he calls their momma ugly if it wins us games.
"mind warefare" huh?
This term being applied to BP, sounds like someone who never played football and cannot understand it.
He is not training men to take a bunker in Iraq folks!
He is trying to motivate individuals to perform, same as your boss at work...
