God, the Redskins were stupid to deal for Duckett the way they did.

I dunno about that, I'd take OG Vince Manuwai, WR Kelley Washington, OLB/DE Adalius Thomas, DE Cory Redding, QB Matt Schaub or QB Chris Simms and never complain...
Not all of them, of course, the Boys aren't likely to have that kind of cap room...

OG Dockery from the Redskins would also be interesting to take a look at. He may be too big for a OG in Parcells system though, 6-6 345, although he is only 26.
Speaking of the Redskins, I say Nate Clemons will be the person they overpay and bring in to replace an aging and often injured Springs.

I cannot believe the deals for the deadskins over the past 3 years.......unreal!
But, I love it!

i guess we can disagree on this. none of these guys strike me as break the bank type of free agents. they might be nice pieces or role players for the right price.
most of the league takes the cowboys approach to their better players -- lock them up long term (see roy williams, bradie james, etc).

I think that's a pretty weak free agent class at the top. The only real big names on it are Tiki (old) and Freeney. With all the cap room that teams will have because of the new CBA, we may see a lot of overspending. I think the Cowboys would be smart to mostly sit this one out. We don't have any hugely glaring needs at the moment that can't be filled by the draft anyway.

As a Texas Longhorns fan, I'd love to see Dockery in Dallas... but he's more of a mauler, a la the old Hudson Houck offensive lines, I don't know if he has the agility to prosper in the Cowboys' system...

I hope not, he's actually fairly young and really good...

That's exactly why they interest me, CBW... I don't think the Boys need any "break the bank" types, I think they need a few more pieces to the puzzle...

Manuwai's been mostly a disappointment. Redding is a decent player but wouldn't be an upgrade over Spears or Canty. Simms would be a huge gamble. We're already complaining about Carpenter and you want another OLB in Thomas? I don't think Schaub is any better than either Bledsoe or Romo. The only guy on that list that makes any sense is Kelley Washington.
Manuwai's been mostly a disappointment.
You're joking, right? He is consistently described as a 'road grader'. I watched him handle our Dline pretty handily plus I watched him dominate at U of Hawaii. What? If a guy doesn't blast defensive players 30 yards downfield like an angry Hulk and then urinate on their broken bodies he's a 'disappointment'? Give me a break, dude.
I'm willing to bet he'd do a better job here in Dallas than Rivera does.
