Its really a catch 22 with him starting. He can open lanes in the run game and JJs stats are showing that. Although, indirectly we're vulnerable with him in the passing game. Not because he blocks poorly, but because he can't shotgun snap. I remember BP mentioning that last year and to see Bledsoe under center with the blitz coming is scary. I hope he develops some type of shotgun snap, because if he can't we may be in serious trouble.

in todays PC parcells mentioned "one guy" as being the weaklink in the pass protection. and it wasn't gurode whom he outright said was fine.

so who was the offending party?

i didn't tape the game.

but if i remember correctly (i was drunker than cooter brown) the pressure came up the middle.

so was kosier or rivera? maybe julius on the blitz pickup? who's the one guy.

Flozell Adams was the weakest link. Then comes kosier, the center and right side was fine.

BINGO with Adams, although Kosier did okay with his assignments. Adams got raped.

I thought Flozell was, by far, the weakest link on the line.

First, I think Gurode has been playing well this year. However, I'm tired of this Gurode can't snap nonsense. Will someone take Dre outside and practice snapping the ball 100 times a day for a few months until he gets it down. In fact, with all those "staff" guys running around Oxnard in training camp, one can receive the ball and one can act like a Nose Tackle. Really, when players make bank in the NFL, they can frickin learn how to snap the shotgun. It's not like rocket science or like Shaq hitting a free throw (or maybe it is)....I can't think anymore after yesterday....

We used the shotgun on the final drive...wasn't he still the center...snaps were a little low, but not bad.

You'd think so...but I can think of one other purty good NFL center who just could NOT learn to shot gun snap.

Damien Woody.

Maybe the Shaq analogy IS a good one.

Flozell was the weakest link yesterday, BY FAR.

3 separate times he was supposed to block down on Darwin Walker, and all three of those times he didn't even attempt to do so.

Is it that Gurode can't shotgun snap or Bledsoe doesn't like the shotgun?

I've heard that Bledsoe hates the shotgun although it has been used in the previous games. I think Norm and the other radio guys are the ones who said this.

I know in pre-season Romo used it quite a bit, with only one bad snap that I can remember.

Shotgun snaps are a weakness for Gurode. Hopefully he's been working at it though.

I don't understand how anyone can be a center in this league and can't snap for the shotgun. I was the center when I played, I did all the snapping, shotgun, field goals, and deep snaps,, its different mechanics, but come on, these guys are pro's. someone fly me up to dallas and give me 2 hours with him and he will be snapping just fine. Its NOT that hard.

Dude, believe me, its not as easy as it looks. Im the best blocker on my high school team but can't beat out the center because no matter how much I practice I just can't get the snaps to be consistent. So if its true he's having trouble with it, I can relate.

Rivera is the weakest link tied with Flozell.

Flozell flat out gets beaten on plays, Rivera gets pushed back into the QB way to often.

Not every team on the planet uses the shotgun.

We didn't run it on my highschool team or the two college teams I played for.

The only team I ever played on that used the shotgun was semi-pro.
