He said that teams are double covering T.O. and taking him outta the game. Then was asked if this happen all year and he said "maybe."
Now here's my problem-wasn't T.O. double covered in Philly and San Francisco? Or was Freddie Mitchell attracting all of the attention? I believe Bill is becoming clueless.

S what really upset you is that he was asked a question and he gave an answer?

Even if T.O is double covered for the whole game he was wide open for a touchdown and probably a couple of other times too. There will always be a chance to get him the ball I think.

Maybe. That upset you? What, you want him to play fortune teller?
Philly and SF played a very different offense so that doesn't seem relevant.

It's very difficult to double a guy if he's in the slot and going in motion...duh.

Sure he was doubled there.
The obvious conclusion is he can no longer break double teams at will.
But guess what?
Owens isn't immortal either, and it's kinda unfair to expect him to be.

Parcells is a moron. The sooner he and Bledsoe retires, the better off we'll be.

When are people going to understand Parcells vs the press?

I just hope Ireland is all he's supposedly cracked up to be.
I won't miss Drew one ounce. I won't miss BP's coaching, but I'd hate to go back to having Jerry draft our players.

Well BP stated in one of his PC's a couple of weeks ago, defenses have not done much to take TO out of the game.
So why could we not complete passes to ALL OF OUR OTHER WEAPONS!!!!!!

here is my problem with what BP is saying and DB is doing. Of course TO was doubled almost every play this game, last game and every game for the last 7 years or so. But the QB still threw it to him. Why? because he is a playmaker and he will go get it.That's how he has made his name. He didn't get to be TO because he can beat someone one on one.. he got to be TO , cause he would beat everyone on the D. Drew has got to throw him the ball, period.
After all that,, it would help if TO would catch some of the easy ones he's dropped too.

Glad I wasnt the only one pissed about this.........
Bill, here is a clue...........move the freaking guy in motion...put him in the slot...put him in the damn backfield as a RB.....I dont care, but keep the defense guessing..........can we do that Bill????
Sorry Gang....just a little venting :

I wonder why we have not seen a reverse with Owens, I mean Keyshawn got almost one a game

If any one doubts whether Bill Parcells was luke warm toward the signing of TO, look no further.
The fact the Cowboys aren't willing to devise game-plans to take advantage of TO's unique skills is all you need to know about whether everyone was onboard with his signing.

Trotter mentioned something about this.
In the past teams have moved Owens around in the backfield so that teams couldn't key on him and double him at will.
This offense needs to become more complex and start taking advantages of the weapons that we have.
I don't think they really looked at film of T.O. and applied it to how we can run this offense.
If you tell one safety.. you're helping with t.o. and he shifts from the weakside to the strong side, you complete screw their run defense, as well as their coverage against a tight end...
We have to have a tight end behind owens, and a tight end that is going over the middle. If owens is sealed from top and bottom, likely there is a space open underneath that area.

T.O. should go to BP and say "Are you kidding me?" like he did to T. Haley during the game. Irvin was almost always double teamed. Jerry Rice was as well.

You are right but also wrong.
I think we do want to do more with TO. We did lots of stuff with Key lat year - so it isn't like Bill is against that. However, we've got TO in a new system - and he missed most of the pre-season and TC. He still is learning the basics.
Also, if we make the playoffs, we will have 2 more games against the Eagles (or possibly 3 vs. the Giants). I don't think you want to show everything the first time through the division.

Are you kidding? We are not good enough to hide anything. Somebody made a comment about this being a different offense, but wideouts in any offense only run 5-6 routes how hard can that be to learn. We got outcoached and we got horrible QB play. I agree with the one guy who said Parcells didnt want Owens on this team or else he would get him the ball. Put him in the slot or in motion do something. If he was on any other team they would get him the ball.....Parcells is the worst period.....

it's time for B.P. and Drew to go. B.P. is using Drew (by starting him) to piss J.J. off for signing T.O.
I would love to see Jimmy come back and coach next year. Man that would really be something to see (hey if old jacka$$ Gibbs can come back so could Jimmy).

Yep and MeO always seemed to beat the double teams also. One thing about him too he's good with the stiff arm. He's not one that's really "shut down" you can contain him but he'll still get his yardage.

Beast caught that one also. Tuna said that TO was getting doulbe covered and it would probably stay that way the whole year. Then Tuna said you normally dont want to throw into double coverage. Thus, Tuna is basically saying that we are not going to throw to TO at all this season unless he is singe covered.
What a stupid mo fo statement.......freaking amazing:mad:

Bledsoe sucks and can't get it into double coverage that often. Even last year Keyshawn had to drill it into his head to throw it nomatter what. Have TO come and say something like that to Drew and it's the end of the world though. Drew is the type of Qb that likes the easy, safe throw, he's just not going to take a risk that often because 9/10 he gets burned by a pick off. And the last thing we want is Drew forcing it. Which leaves in a real "catch 22" at the moment. TO is most always double covered, DB is scared of those throws. That's why we need a gun slinger like Romo if we want to do anything this year. Dump offs to Witten, Glenn and Jones are just not going to cut it, and in the process all we're doing is pissing off our best player when really we should be cataring to his every need.

It doesnt really matter how wide open TO or any Cowboy WR is for that matter, unless Bledsoe has a perfect pocket he will never complete the pass anyway.

Both those teams run the WCO Dallas does not. One thing Dallas did do later in the game was line TO in the slot and BP has said they may start moving TO around a bit to help get more favored matchups but TO is still learning this offense something that could have been much easier had he not missed as much time during camp as he did. Not saying it was his fault missing time but it does not change the fact that a new player coming to a new system needed as much time as possiable and that did not happen.

We have two explanations offered in this thread, 1) TO missed a ton of time and isn't up to speed on the offense and 2) Bill hates TO so he won't throw to him.
1) is backed by fact. 2) is at least wrong in the won't throw to him part as TO had 11 or 12 balls thrown at him on Sunday.

I don't think Bill hates TO he is not going to pamper TO but I don't think he hates TO. I'm not faulting TO for missing time in camp and pre-season but regardless of what some may think players go through this for a reason especially guys who are coming in and learning a new system. TO has spent his entire career in one offense and now he comes to a team that runs a different system and it is going to take some time before he will gel with Bledsoe. With Glenn it was much easier he knew the offense and had a good feel for Bledsoe and it shows.
