Looking back at this draft, it's hard to believe that 11 , yes 11 receivers that were drafted before T.O. was picked in the third round that year. Five were picked in the first round. I think this was the deepest draft and best class of receivers, ever.

Looking at that draft, Joe Horn was also taken in the 5th round as well as Patrick Jeffers and Jermaine Lewis.

We took Kavika Pittman 6 picks before Muhsin Muhammad went. I also remember begging for Bobby Engram when we picked Pittman and Randall Godfrey, and he went shortly after Godfrey. That was right after Irvin got hurt so we were definitely in the market for a WR.

The reason so many receivers were drafted ahead of TO is because most of them were better than TO.. TO has an unreal work ethic and has since sculpted himself into one of the best receivers in the league through sheer dedication. He showed up at UT-Chattanooga weighing 175; he is not a natural talent like Moss, he is a self-made superstar

That was right after Irvin got hurt so we were definitely in the market for a WR.

Irvin didn't get hurt he gut busted and suspended for five games.

1994 thru 2001 Dallas had outrageously poor drafts so don't be shocked that no playmaking wideouts were selected, remember how it took forever to find a compliment for Irvin before Rocket Ismail came about, then Irvin went down and it was back to square one.
To demonstrate the sheer ineptitude of Cowboy drafting in the era take a look at the best players from that draft year by year, often the below names were the only ones to make the team!

2000- Dwayne Goodrich (instead of probowls he's eligable for parole in about 35 years)
- Mario Edwards( the best corner Dallas drafted in 2000)
2001- Quincy Carter (Hark! A savior is born!...and then promptly exiled)

- Tony Dixon (I think I may have net him at Luby's, he served me coleslaw)

And then in 2002 apart from Roy and recently Andre a much praised draft went straight to hell quicker then you can say Derek Ross and Antonio Bryant!

Although hindsight is 20/20, isn't it unbelievable that a team picked Eddie Kennison right before the Colts look Marvin Harrison.

Looked like a good pick in that first year. Kennison arguably had the better rookie season and both had good rookie seasons. I remember Kennison being viewed as a better athlete. Harrison got better and Kennison didn't.

I don't think it's the case that Harrison got better while Kennison didn't, I'd bet if Kennison was teamed with Manning things would be different.

Kennison had every bit the rookie season as anyone in that draft, Glenn included, 900+ yards, 9 or 10 TDs and a couple of punt return TDS.

He's still put together a very respectable career, with a couple of 1000 yard seasons recently.

I believe this is the 97 draft if im not wrong, im pretty sure mcnabb played his freshman year with marvin harrison as a senior, and cuse was good :laugh2: go orangemen, not orange...
