Vinny and the offense look sharp.
JJ looks OK, not great.
Dixon and Powell should be cut by the start of the second half.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about Dixon this year.
Unless we can make a trade, of course . . . . But besides that, we can only pray that Woody makes it back sooner rather than later.

Very weak effort defensively.......
I'm officially worried about the defense.
We can't cover anyone.
Roy looks very human.....he's had a disappointing preseason so far.
Glover looks like the only defensive player that can play.....Newman too.
Our OL will be fine....glad "Hotel" got up. I was about ready to puke when I saw him grab the knee.
Our WRs are good. I thought they were last year. Witten is very good.

How has Chad Eaton looked thus far?

Defense isnt ready at all. Tackling still suspect and Powell, Dixon cant cover second teamers. Not good on defense. The 3-4 scheme didnt look bad.
Vinny Looks much better. Setting up quicker. Nice spiral, very catchable balls and solid reads.
EG still looks a tad slow. JJ looks fast but hasnt gotten much room to run except on screens.
OL has looked quite good. TEs will be dominant this year.

Heavy and a bit out of shape but hard to move. Decent run stopper type. Think Ted Washington minus 20 pounds.

We are in trouble if Dixon has any extended playing time.

Thanks.
Hopefully in the next 2 weeks he'll come around . . . .

Keyshawn 8 catches - thats impact
Vinny on fire - bad inter but all in all a 240 yard half and 13 points.
Running game stagnant.
TE's are a threat down the seam and Glenn, AB STRETCHING FIELD VERTICALLY!
Eaton had limited reps but anchors the Nose tackle - A lot of players around him will look better. The 3-4 was used with some success - you can see the angst it causes a D.
Powell is lost, Hunter gave up a few easy catches and had at best an average game. The secondary is a HUGE ? mark so far.

I think the right side of the OL still looks poor....that explains why Witten was pass blocking so much...not a good sign.
ON defense, I'm very very concerned about stopping the run, the RCB, and clearly Wiley and Ellis still can't get to the QB despite man blocking for the most part...we are not upgraded up front in my opinion...we still can't pressure the QB without blitzing, only now our RCB has no freakin' clue what's going on...Hunter and Powell both look lost.
I can live with no pass rush...we'll never have one until we admit it and go for a true pure rusher in the draft or FA....I can live with the weak D vs. the run because we can gamble and blitz the run, etc....but we are going to get killed by our RCB's....we better make a trade soon....you can say whatever you want and make any freakin' excuses you want for Powell and Hunter, but we're less than 2 weeks from opening day and these 2 guys are NOT READY for prime time...not even close.
I was hoping for better, but BP is blowing smoke right now...Mario Edwards was better last year than either of these guys...I know most don't believe it, but if you're watching the replays and watching how they cover and react, they are going to get burned big time come regular season....

I'm the one laughing my *** off, dufus...what's midseason have to do with a thread titled "first half impressions"...lol...I assumed that meant just that, impressions of what we saw in the first half...if you saw something different, feel free to share.
What we're doing at midseason will have more to do with our 2005 season.

Vinny did have alot of time in the pocket tonight. I liked to see that.

It looked like the 1st team Defense was pulling up rather than making hits. Smart move. The 1st team doesn't have anything to prove...
... except Dixon... he looked bad.

The passing game looked good, but the running game still needs some work.
Even though Parcells seems to keep thinking and saying that Hunter, or someone else, will man the RCB spot, if it is Hunter - Randy Moss will chew him up and spit out Hunter by halftime! I have been pulling for Hunter all along, however I'm beginning to have serious doubts if Hunter will ever "get it", period.

Why?
How did he play bad tonight?
