He played, and if memory serves... he got toasted a few times. He didn't look good.
He's supposed to be very good in the slot but he looked silly last night.

I only remember seeing him once and he didn't look good at all.

I had a little blurb about him in my writeup last night.
Donald Mitchell had a nice pass deflection and on that same play, Lynn Scott dished out a punishing hit to knock the ball out of the receiver's hand. Towards the end of the game, Mitchell seemed to struggle a bit. First he was penalized for holding, which cost the Cowboys 5 yards and on the next series, he missed an open field tackle in the flats, which allowed the receiver to pickup the first down.

I remember thinking at one point during the game that Mitchell had to be as embarassed as George about his performance against his former team.
I dunno. I fully expect our secondary to look better when the games are for real, but I also expect us to still have some problems as well.
Why our CB's never do play the ball is beyond me. For years now it seems like none of them can ever locate the ball in the air and try to make an INT... or at least knock it down. They do fine on comebacks, out, and crossing routes. However, the deep throws are our Achillie's heel.
I almost expect the WR to slow down and jump up to catch the underthrown ball on every long pass as the DB blindly looks around for the ball with both feet planted firmly in the real grass.
It killed us last year and it looks like we'll get more of the same this season.
I was actually thinking during the game that Mitchel sure isn't getting very many reps. I think the guy may be trouble.
I didn't see him take any snaps with the starting defense. To me, for a dress rehearsal, the guy is in danger of being cut.
There is no other reason for it. When he did play, he certainly didn't help his cause.
