Just about DROOLING!....LOL. WOW, what an O lineman. Could be the best left tackle weve EVER had, by a long shot too. Just dominates his competition in the pass or run game, leveling multiple players. Huge, strong, but agile like a cat also. Kiper has him going number two in the whole draft, wish there were someway somehow we could get this kid without losing a bunch of games this year. Maybe JJ can pull the wool over the eyes of whatever team ends up with the second pick....LOL Just a pipedream, but boy would he ever go a long way in fixing our o line problems...

Wisconsin Badgers.........Yep, The Badgers. Normally Badger lineman dont translate all that well into the NFL. Just a bunch of HUGE bulldozers without alot of athletic ability. But this kids different, ALOT different. 6-8 320, NASTY disposition on the field. Fantastic in the run game, Ive seen him just throw the first guy out of the way, then level another TWO guys down the field. In passprotection the guy is very athletic, tapdancer feet, long arms and VERY STRONG hands. Like they said yesterday, once Joe gets his hands on you..............ITS OVER! On a sidenote, they mentioned yesterday that the Badgers have the biggest offensive line in the history of football, college OR pro. WOW, talk about behemoths:eek: Three of the guys are 6-8 and well over 300 and the other 2 are 6-6 and well over 300. Holy moley! Can you imagine what it costs the Badgers to FEED those dudes at the training table???LOL

that's exactly what I was thinking.
I like Jake Long from Michigan a lot better. I also like the tradition of success that Michigan OL's tend to have in the pros. They tend to be technique-sound.
Not sold on Badger OL success in the pros.

Iowa under Ferrentz probably teaches the fundamentals better then any other school. UNFORTUNATELY they do not get the best talent and as shown with Gallery, talent is very important when your technique is equal. He ws so used to dominating in college that he did not really put himself out and it shows. I always thought he was over rated- he does not have the little extra quickness that you need to be the best. Now he is good- but that is all. Steinbach is an example of someone who ALMOST has the elite talent and works very hard- he is a very good Guard and I would love to have him as a FA.
USC has loads of talent but they are soft. Michigan probably does about the best at getting top talent and developing it pretty well, at least on the O line. If Ferrentz could get the talent he would have the best O line prospects around. ND used to do very well there but now that Joe Moore is gone they no longer develope the talent all that well; but they do get mean guys like Faine. Unfortunately for Faine he was just not big and strong enough, nor I think actually quick enough to be elite.

Yep Michigan sure does seem to produce some pretty solid O-Lineman.

As farfetched as it sounds, I'm almost in favor of using all of our first day picks on lineman.
We're fine on defense and I think we can wait one more year before thinking about the future at WR (assuming that Crayton and Hurd are #2 and #3 at best).
There's not a single guy on our OL that I don't consider to be expendable at this point.

Have watched JOe Thomas. By the way, Gallery was a LT coming out and not a RT/ That is where he was put in Oakland. Thomas looks just like Gallery did in college.

Hopefully he's not like that other Tackle from Wisconsin, Aaron Gibson.

Count me as a big fan, also. He was coming out last year before his horrific injury and he never would've fallen to us. I'm glad he's recovered and think he'll be a first rounder. Nasty and talented.

That's EXACTLY who I want to replace Rivera. Not sure if Steinbach plays RG or LG but we can move Kosier if we must.
We HAVE to have a RG.
Rivera is one of the worst OL I've ever seen these past two seasons. I know he was once a good player, but he would've been cut a while ago had it not been for his big contract and expectations. He's horrible now.
Steinbach is the replacement I want.

Also known as my alma mater. I'm not that crazy about Thomas. Maybe Robert "Can't Miss" Gallery's failure is a factor when I assess him. Or the tepid Big Ten competition he faces week to week. We'll see.

I think he'll be a top 5 pick.

Nasty and talented.Unfortunately the team where you live is probably just as horny for him. They've got to protect Paris' ex.

They've tried Gallery at both RT and LT, to no avail. He's arguably worse than our 7th rounder, who isn't even active on sundays as of late.
