Bobby Carpenter - CrazyCowboy has more tackles than him
Anthony Fasano - we'll see if Romo can involve him more.. but for now..
Jason Hatcher - hurt, but looked good in the nickle
Skyler Green - bleh
Pat Watkins - gets burned, gets benched, he'll be back hopefully
Montavious Stanley - not in the league anymore (I don't think)
EJ Whitley - IR
Pat McQuistan - inactive
that's almost Larry Lacewell-like
in fact, I heard reports that ol' Lacewell himself held our draft room at gunpoint and made each draft pick himself

What the hell is this nonsense?
I wish the admins would delete more threads. Set an example that if you post trash, it gets deleted.

Fair enough...
Bobby Carpenter - CrazyCowboy has more tackles than him True. However, at the time of the draft (I can't stress that enough) OLB was a major need for us. If Ellis hadn't worked out as well as he has, I assure you, we'd see more of Carpenter. He's never been a special teamer, to have him relagated to doing so now, and expecting him to excel at it is foolish.
Anthony Fasano - we'll see if Romo can involve him more.. but for now.. He's been plenty involved. His blocking has continued to improve this year, and like you said, with Romo in there we might actually see some passes thrown to our TE's. This guy can catch. I can show you plenty of teams whose second rounders don't contribute squat.
Jason Hatcher - hurt, but looked good in the nickle This was a hell of a pick if you ask me. He's a catalyst. Too bad he was injured, but its football...it happens.
Skyler Green - bleh I agree 100% with this one.
Pat Watkins - gets burned, gets benched, he'll be back hopefully I actually love this kid, with one exception...he seems to be overwhelmed. I'm not sure he has the mental capacity for the game at this level. Which is why I disagree with Parcells sitting him. He needs to gain confidence, not lose it. The difference between him getting burnt and the other free safeties we've had as of late.....at least he was in position to make a play. The others would have been five yards behind the receiver, with no chance. He needs to learn how to play the ball better. He's outstanding in run support as well. All in all, not bad for a fifth rounder.
Montavious Stanley - not in the league anymore (I don't think) He's currently a backup DT with the jags. He's played two games and has one FF. Not a particularly good pick, as he is apparently more of a one gap player
EJ Whitley - IR No idea. Like I said, injuries happen,
Pat McQuistan - inactive True, but he looked damn good for the amount of experience he has. I wouldn't be surprised to see him start in the near future. Either way, a hell of a pick in the 7th round.

Not our best draft in the last four years, but by no means a poor one...as far as we can tell right now.

You do realize that Lacewall was with the Cowboys from 89-93 which were good drafts, Johnson trusted him and he found Larry Allen in 94 and Dexter Coakley in 97, JJ is more responsible for bad drafting then Larry Lacewall. He for some reason wisened up and trusts Jeff Ireland.

Johnson wasn't around when we drafted Allen, who just fell into our laps by the way. As for Coakley, you're supposed to draft good players in the 3rd round. Lacewell was a JOKE.

Wow I did not know a 4th round rookie was suppose to come in and play like they belong in the pro-bowl; wait most rookies do not play like Pro-Bowlers.
Wow what a surprise rookies struggling and adjusting to the NFL

Lacewell came to the Boys in 1992 and first "began helping direct" the draft in 1993 (I'm quoting NFL.com) along with Jimmy. This because -- after the 1992 draft (that is, right after the 1st Super Bowl win) the all-time greatest scout, Cowboys' director of college scouting Dick Mansberger retired. It was Mansberger, not Lacewell, that was responsible for making the team what it was back then.
Lacewell led off his first draft - 1994 - with Shante Carver, Larry Allen, and total spares afterward. 1995 was the infamous year when they decided to draft for "backups" all at need positions and got nobody: Sherman Williams, Charlie Williams, and spare-aroni. It never got much better in Lacewell's years that followed as we all know by now ...
